Anyone have experience with the 06-07 zx10r's? Been a few years since I've owned a kwak and my last one pissed me off but a local shop here has seriously discounted their left-overs to a level that's hard to resist. I've owned a liter bike in the past so I know generally what they are all about, just looking for real life experiences with reliability, any issues , handling quirks etc. Definately not a must do but would be nice to have another azz kicker when the mood strikes.

I had a 2006 for a year. I really liked it, it just worked with me
It's crazy fast like all the other liter bikes out there, but I think it was a bit more friendly too. The bike was reliable and never had a serious issue. I found it pretty comfortable but I DID buy a Corbin seat, Helibars, and Vortex rearsets (installed on the opposite sides - you can lower the footpegs about an inch!) I still have all those parts too..... for sale cheap
Here are the quirks that I noticed:
Kind of hard to read the instruments due to a tinted instrument face.
Minor fairing buzz up front (but can be fixed with a little hidden electrical tape)
Slightly mushy feeling to the front brakes
Other than that, I loved it. The only real reason to sell was to pay down my wifes car and I wasn't riding it much, I have a ZX14 that got more attention.
I know this isn't a "review" but if you have questions feel free to ask. Overall I would be quite happy to own another one if I still wanted a liter bike.

Any pictures of your ride all set up with the seat/bars/pegs?

Okay, here's a pic of the ZX with the Helibars, Corbin and Vortex rear-sets. It's hard to tell how much room to get with the higher handlebars and lower footpegs because I don't have a comparison picture... but the handle bars are 2" higher and the footpegs about 1" lower.

Yep the good stuff, I posted them here in the classified section
http://www.sport-touring.net/forums/index.php/topic,47252.0.html
but I haven't put them up on ebay yet.
Take a look, if you've got a 2006 or 2007 ZX10R everything should fit just great...
Dave
And I'm glad my bike is "HAWT"! of course she isn't mine anymore... she's someone elses love child now!

A part of me still wishes that I had taken the dealer's trade-in offer for my ZX6R to take one of their hold over 07' ZX10s.
