My wife and I are going to hit the Daytona zoo next Friday and Saturday, the 9th and 10th. I have usually just gone to watch the bikes and people EEK! Headscratch Lol.. However I figure that people more familiar with the event could point me in best directions. I will be on a silver South Carolina Concours riding double, maybe the last week before it is sold.

If you like vintage bikes, go down to Deland Friday.  There, at Stetson University, they have the vintage bike show and auction.  You will see one of the most diverse collections of bikes anywhere there, this side of AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days in Ohio.

If you take the A1A north towards St. Augustine, you can visit Marineland... http://www.marineland.net/

Take you wife down to the Lighthouse Restuarant at Ponce Inlet for dinner.  This is an awesome place to hang out, she'll love you for it.

+100 the auction is a great display, viewing hur, sale Friday.  Great Pie across the street... Sunday House I think.
I hope you already have a place to stay, if the weather's good there will few rooms available, and they play the 3 day minimum game.
A1A south to the cape tour is a great "off topic" stop
The only good scenic drive is north of Deland in the National Forest.
At the speedway will be all the manufactures test rides rigs... get there early of forget it.
The speedway tent shows are like the cycle world regional shows.
Destination Daytona, on I-95 at Daytona is the new Hot Spot for the RUBs
The Flea Market/Swap meet at the Fair Grounds near Deland is good for Stuff/Junk watching and they have dirt drags and stunters running amuck.
Pick up a Cycle News at a local shop and it'll have a rundown of "official" events.

Have Fun and remember your invisible to stupid bikers as well as SUVs.

Light travels faster than sound.  That's why some people appear bright until you hear them speak..
