OK... I don't know how but I've totally missed this post until now. I have a few questions...

Will a 250 supermoto be completely underpowered at Blackhawk? If it's a tight and technical track it'd probably be great, but if Blackhawk has a mile long front straight like Road America it would probably be frustrating with only 27hp.

I just got new boots. They're short but do go over the ankles. Will those be ok?

Is there instruction? I would be a track day noob.

It's March 24... is it too late? I just saw it late tonight, and I'll have to talk to my wifey so I can't commit yet, but with the group that's already committed (ha!) this could be great fun.

Hopefully I haven't gotten too fat for my leathers that I haven't worn in years.

I've seen a 250supermoto on the track. You will get passed on the front straight but you will likely be fine on most of the rest of the track. Just hold your line, don't be erratic, and it should not be an issue. The front straight at BFR is NOT a mile long straight like at Road America. You will probably get near top speed but I don't think you would be there for very long.

There will be 2+ control riders with each group for instruction. There will be a few rider meetings also.

Not too late to register.

I think your boots will be fine.

No comment on your size. I believe textiles are allowed if that matters.

Blackhawk is a fairly short, fairly technical track -- you'll have big fun, no doubt!

everything got answered already.  Have to add that 2 years ago a friend of mine did this track day on KTM450 with metzeler "meh" street tires and had fun.

Register and have fun, we will have passing allowed, so as long as you watch the racing line, it will not be a problem

Hey guys & gals good news. I will be there.

They hired me to control ride for Novice group. So I probably won't be "working" this group but I will be there to help.

Also as an employee of Blackhawk I get to share the love, so to speak. If you want to ride any other days on their schedule, PM me and I can give you a discount code that will match the group rate you are getting.

Alright... wifey's basically on board. The only problem is that I just went the self-employed route, and already customers are taking forever to pay their bills. It's pretty painful on the budget right now, and with payment due in a week...

I guess hopefully they'll just pay up and I'll be able register. Otherwise maybe I can go on a standby list.

Definitely would like to register.

Thanks for the welcome! As for a bit of background, I from the central Iowa area and have been riding for a number of years -- over 6 on the street and nearly 20 putting around in the dirt... started pretty young  Smile. What brought me to this site was a search for gear/comfort mods I could do to my CBR to ready it for a SS1000 plus another 1700 or so miles in a few months.  I recently got bitten by the trackday bug, already signed up for Autobahn with Sportbike Track Time at the end of April, and might throw a day at MAM in between now and then.

I will be on Autobahn on April 25th as well.  I will be in the novice, since it's a first trackday on Autobahn for me and in the season.

I will be on black and white R6, # 711, so if you see it, stop by, say hi.

i will PM you the promo code and add you to the list.
