If Maggie comes with the geeklet, we'll stay at the hotel.  If not, I'll camp.

Anyone want to babysit a newborn for 20/min at a time so mom can get some sessions in?   Bigsmile

FYI for those who don't like to camp. The Ramada on Hwy 75 & Hwy2 in South Beloit have a rider/racer special. Tell them you are riding Blackhawk and you get a room for $49.99. That includes two queen bed rooms.

See ya there.

Are you sure it's a Ramada?  I couldn't find one in S. Beloit.

Might I suggest you work on getting your chest down to the tank and shoulders over more. Over all very nice and smooth/consistent.

since the first trackday I went to was too short (we left ~3hours after the track went green, weather), I had to go out again. Really tried to work on that suggestion. I felt like I was getting there, and some other riders (NESBA A group guys) said I was riding really well and had great body position. I still don't get my head down as much as I've seen other guys do.

So anyway, critique:

Woah, you go fast on that ninja bike.  Thumbsup

Body position doesn't make you go fast. Going fast makes you go fast. (I don't do this. )

I ride with a guy who many would say rides all crossed up. I'll be damned if I, or many others can catch him.

Here is the post copied ( I guess you're right, South Beloit Inn)

Quote
Hey guys and gals....had a conversation with my friend Jeannie at the South Beloit Inn (aka Ramada) right off of hwy Ill. hwy 75 on Dearborn ave,and I noticed last year their rooms were down.So I told her alot of racers were trying to trim some fat, possibly doing more camping, but said to her why not cover your costs and have some cash flow with a special racer rate for this year. She was very enthuised at this win win porposition and came up with for only BHF racer /riders $49.95 per night even for a double queen room. That's a no brainer...so just call 815-389-3481 and mention you a BHF racer/rider and want the special rate per Jeannie...hope this will work for some of you.

You are correct that body position is not the end all be all of speed. There are many components.

That being said, good body position will NEVER hurt you. I don't believe the opposite can be true.

Good & smooth - very key!

The next thing is leg. It is best if you can lock your lower body with your legs on the tank. This is hard to explain over the web. They have a body position practice bike @ BHF. You are doing very well, the things I'm talking about are nit picking to be sure.

P.S. I also ride with Nesba's A group.

Is it time to ride yet?

I haven't met you, but I saw that avatar over on the NESBA forum and thought "what are the chances that someone else uses that doormat as an avatar?"

Hopefully we all can be involved in some instruction discussions between sessions. Looking forward to it.

Is the prep going to be any different from last year?  The regs last time were loose enough that we were allowed to run coolant instead of water.  Do we need to swap this time since it's a different group?

no need to swap coolant.

you are good with textile gear and over the ankle boots, and gauntlet gloves.  no need to safetywire anything, but I think they ask to safetywire or wire-tie your side stand before you get on the track, but need to confirm it anyway.  unlike last time when Mr Clean was doing tech, we would need to go through the common tech procedure in the techshed

Safety wiring kickstands has not been enforced the past two years and I hope this is still the case.
I'd hate to have to tie a track stand to the back of the bike for the ride up.   Bigsmile

it is enforced with Motovid, at least it was last week Smile

no need to bring a track stand - just have a few wire ties with you and put one one before going on the track

Is the group full yet? I am still on the fence.

I wanna do it....I just went over the 1000 mile mark on my DRZ so I think it should be officially broke in by now.

If I read correctly, the DRZ400-SM will be allowed...
