Mark Milanowski - Are you on the fence as well? You could be our 20th rider and ensure that we get a separate group!

I haven't met you, but I saw that avatar over on the NESBA forum and thought "what are the chances that someone else uses that doormat as an avatar?"
Hopefully we all can be involved in some instruction discussions between sessions. Looking forward to it.
Yep, I love that avatar. I go by ERB68 on some boards.
I would be willing to speak with anyone that wants info.

I would love to be there on my DRZ but I have some other financial obligations so I will not be able to join the fun.
I thought I could swing one track day year. Maybe next year.
Have a great time and be safe!

oh well. our club has a big ride on Sunday, I will try to sell this spot then and there, but it could be a short notice for many people.
I hope Motovid will still provide us with separate group, though, they might inject some more people into it - all depends how the day will sell out

I'm a long-time lurker on this thread....
Seroiusly and sorely tempted to jump off the bridge and join the group. Maybe we can speak of this over breakfast (Sunday?) so you guys can help me to understand why I should willingly indulge in this particular form of crack cocaine...like I don't have enough hobbies / too little discretionary time and $ already.
Machine Shed at 7:30...stands up by 8:30?
Let me know...

Trackdays, if nothing else, are really about skill improvement. This is a prime opportunity to explore boundaries with your bike. You decide how far you want to explore. It will be like riding your favorite road, with no opposing traffic and no police to worry about. After a short while you will be picking up on the intracacies of the track and will start to think about brake points and turn-in points. Along with that, you will pay attention to how your body position and throttle control can make for nice smooth turns at a greater speed.
And then we come back to the pits and shoot the shit for a while.
I've never taken a MSF course, but I seriously think that a trackday is a big step for anyone who wants to get in some riding practice.

OK...I called for breakfast on Sunday, and the Lurker (via Ed McSpellar) has coffee planned for after that. I'm in for both, weather permitting. I'll make the call on the Track Day after chatting it up on Sunday with Ed, Jim, Matt, etc...whoever all shows up.
I "guarantee" that, if I jump, I'll be the slowest 'round the track! Long odds and no question about it, either...but that's OK...I'm almost always the "flower-sniffer" on any ride with this group. Hell, Jeremy outran me last Soup run on his Burgman. But the idea of intense / directed concentrated skills training is what makes this most attractive to me. I don't care about riding "fast"...but I want to ride "better" and that's the takeaway I want from this.
If a riding school is a better option....that's what I need to hear from the collective wisdom of the R4 Team.
See you all on Sunday AM...

A riding school could most definitely be part of the equation but track days are a great place to work on your rhythm and work on being smooth. The control riders in each group essentially serve as instructors and are always happy to answer questions. Go for it. You'll have a great day and ride away more confident in both your abilities and those of your bike.
Cheers.

there will be control riders / riding coaches in our group. In past years, they worked with the not-so-fast people. If you want some help, all you gotta do is speak up. They are very flexible, and their whole motivation is to help people improve skills. Also in past years the CR's came over and talked about objectives for the day, some tips before we head out, and some goals to think about over the course of the day.
I have never done a riding school, although I have considered it. Schools with some of the big names are expensive, but they are for racers.

Tech Question
I ride a ZX14 with a NOS bottle that powers the speed shifter, would I need to remove the bottle and safety wire the lines?
