Thanks. You can see and hear it at the 7th annual ST.n Borscht Burn and BBQ in Castlegar later this summer.

Wow,
You know, since the VFR is almost done, if you're bored this winter, I'll allow you to do some stuff to my XX....

Very gracious of you but I might be busy with my buddy's ZX-12r.
I'm trying to convince him to drop the engine and do a mild big bore on it.

Anyhow, this is the latest winter's efforts. Powdercoated swingarm, valve covers, all new brake/clutch lines, and a fresh rear tire.
Also got my coolant leak all banished, so no more slight weeping in the middle of the damn engine anymore.
Hey hey hey.... Nice to see you here. I knew that I will meet someone on STN... Great VFR always!

+1 reputation for Veefer.
Edit: How is the ankle?
Hopefully I'll get out your way to a VFR or cycle event.

Edit: How is the ankle?
Same as it was yesterday. Fused solid with a titanium rod.
With my "special-kid" shoes, I get around OK, with hardly a limp.
Stairs and ladders suck, as do hills and other rough terrain.
Doesn't hurt that much UNTIL I try to do anything normal for a good stretch of time.
Then in hurts more. But it always hurts some, just activity x time = ouch with every step.
Walking barefoot looks real ugly though. Very uneven, and my metatarsals hurt.
Oh well, could be worse. I met a guy in the hospital with no foot!

Rob,
What tail bag system do you have?
I recently saw your link but don't know if it was here or on VFRD. I'm looking for a tail bag and/or tank bag for my recently acquired 2001 VFR. I plan on getting Givi hard bags next Spring in anticipation of long trips to TMAC, Summ Summ, or even your neck of the woods if you'll have me at the Kootenay Borscht, Burn and BBQ. In the meantime, I need something to carry the essentials for around town.

Hey MM, I am using a Ventura rack and bag setup. I have two bags to go on it. The aero spada and aero delta bags. They are huge, and easily detachable.
The best soft luggage solution bar none.

Oh, and I've already ordered another swingarm pivot cover. Good eyes. I knew it was missing when I picked it up.

Very nice job indeed!
By the way I read the article on Motorcyclist Magazine. Wow! You're world famous!
Just as suggestion when taking beautiful portraits of your exceptional VFR800, when I take photos of my bike, I always try to make sure the bike is sitting in a shady spot with bright lighting all around. Direct sun makes everything look harsh so I avoid that. Here is an example photo of my very boring VFR800 for comparison. The bike was behind a big cliff wall with bright sunshine blocking light in all directions except indirect. Indirect lighting makes everything look "softer". It works really well with people too.

Thanks guys. Riding season is winding down here, maybe another 2-3 weeks max.
I bought one of those G2 throttle tamers and fitted it yesterday.
Hopefully I can get out this week and see how it works.
As for mods this winter, I've got parts on hand to do the Coil-on-plug setup.
GSXR 2 wire coils from a 1000. Nothing else on the table, I'm running out of stuff to do!!
LOL!

So what's the purpouse of this mod Rob?
Supposedly less loss of spark voltage due to not having long spark leads, etc. So that should be a better spark if that is true.
Not that I've had any issues with the existing coils or anything. But most of the latest motorcycles and cars are all using coil-on-plug setups.
And it satisfies my inner tinkerer plus fuels my online shopping addiction. Twofer.

Just followed a link to this thread from VFRD ... Wow, Rob, I was mesmerized by your clutch window, and liked the paint, 6th gen tank, and carbon fibre bits when I saw your bike in Nelson last year but I didn't realize you were building it back up from a frame-bending wreck. Now I know the back story behind your ankle too. You might remember my surprised look when you said your ankle didn't bend.
At which point I made some brilliant observation like: "It must be hard to shift."
I didn't want to pry--little did I know the story was here the whole time. I see you've kept on farkling, I hope you continue to improve (health and mobility, that is) along with your bike!

Hey, good to hear from you again. Yeah, it was a lot of fun in Nelson.
I'm still working on the bike, the story is on VFRd too, but it might be buried in layers of newer topics/posts.
I've added a G2 throttle tamer recently, and that's about it, I think.
I'm going to get some new farkles myself right after christmas.
Some new hardware and dead guy ligament put into my left shoulder.
More souveniers of the accident on 26/8/09.
As for the foot, it ain't getting any better. It hurts every day, just a question of "how much?" and "when?"
