Jeff we have an extra room and some garage space for a bike. If it works with your schedule, we'll get a pack together for one of the TT nights at Lodi.
Careful, I may take you up on that offer.
Set up a date and maybe we can get a whole bunch of people.

Thanks! If it looks like it could hurt a lot, I want to try it. My wife is very patient.

See that guy who's just about to hit the ground, hard? That would be me... That's Danny Walker (owner of AmericanSuperCamp, who's trying to tell me to keep my elbows out. Too late.
I've done the class twice (5 days total). My instructors were Nicky Hayden and Tommy Hayden at one camp, and Aaron Yates at the other.

I've got room for a couple if we do something at the Lodi Cycle Bowl. I think everybody has raced there once upon a time. American Speedway (or some such thing) in Roseville used to have Speedway bikes on a weekly basis. I'll have to see if they still do.
correction...www.fastfridays.com for Speedway bikes.

If you arn't crashing, your not learning. Is one of their philosophies. Rumor has it, if your not crashing after a certain amount of time, one of the instructors is bound to 'nudge' you
I so wanna do it! I have a couple friends who have done it. Sounds like a blast.

Danial Kalal's XR vs. RS thread reminded me to start a flat track thread for this season. I used to love going to the Sacramento Mile and really enjoyed watching the championship when ESPN2 used to cover the races. I'm making an effort to pay more attention this year. I know Danial Kalal, Stromgal and Tom (Playinthestreet) are rabid fans. Anyone else? Is the
AMA Flat Track page
the best place to get info?
I'd like to recomend that race fans attend a short track or TT event near them. It doesn't have to be an AMA national, the local dirt track will have exciting racing all night most every weekend this summer. Tom and I hit the Lodi Cycle Bowl for their last TT race of the season last fall. Fantastic racing all night in a low key atmosphere. I got in for $5 since I rode my bike. Seeing a whole pack of racers on the edge of traction for an entire race is too thrilling to describe.
I love flat track,I have attended Lima,Indy,Parkersburg,Rossburg, and hagerstown many times.I also get to Orrville and some of the other local events when i can.The sight sound and smell of those bikes clawing thru the dirt is well worth the time.

Jeff, here's the Lodi Cycle Bowl schedule. I'm partial to the TT events but pick what works for your schedule. The Sacto crowd is flexible.

I think Stromgal will be in Sacto about 6/5, so we should do Fast Fridays at Auburn on 6/8?

Mike Kidd (1981 AMA Grand National Champion) is putting on a race in Guthrie Oklahoma this weekend (May 18, 19, 20):
VENUE: Lazy E Arena – Guthrie, Oklahoma
FRIDAY FORMAT/TIME: Professional TT – May 18 – 7:30PM
SATURDAY FORMAT/TIME: Professional Short Track – May 19 - 7:30PM
SUNDAY FORMAT/TIME: Youth, Amateur, Vintage, Pro-AM – May 20th - 10:00AM
It's not a part of the GNC series, but Chris Carr will be there and so will the Suzuki team and I would expect several other national numbers to show as a tune-up race for the Springfield races.

Looks like a good weekend in Guthrie. Saw Gene Romero's West Coast Flat Track series at Lodi last weekend. Had some good riders and great old Yamaha 750s and Triumphs in the vintage division.

This is very likely our last chance to see one of the greatest American racers of any era. Jay Springsteen will be riding the Mile at Springfield this Sunday with Bill Werner wrenching for him. It is understood that he will be retiring for good after this. Flattrack will never be the same.

Good point, I have followed Springer's career through thick and thin. Amazing that he still wrestle's that thing around the track at his advanced age (same age as me I believe
).
Holy crap, I went and looked it up and he is 3 years older....rookie of the year in 1975. Wonder how many on this board weren't born yet?

His last flat track race? Thats monumental. Its hard to even think about Springsteen not racing flat track.
Do you know if he is still going to ride the "Pair 'o Nines" bike in the Moto ST series? Springer and Felice have had good results.
