  Bryan wants to win that #1 plate very badly. If he could put together 3 mile wins he has a chance to do it but Mees and JJ would have to have some bad luck. Bryan is not the first rider to change brands to go faster. I bet Werner /Springer would take him back too. Perhaps the Crosley bike is actually faster as well...   And perhaps the miles and half miles require a good encore performance on TTs and short-tracks to win that #1 plate. He is a great racer. Don't count him out. But I can tell you that the Springfield weekend usually makes or breaks him each year. Last year he was so-so in the TT and fell on the last lap of the mile in 3 going for the lead. He's fun to watch and will never settle for second.

"Watched" the Indy Mile on AMA Live Timing and Flat Track Live from Facebook. Sounds like both Mains were just packed with amazing racing. Wish I could have been there.

Here is a video of Sammy Halbert's Peoria weekend. Some language NSFW!. Finding my religion at 3:10.  Lol

BTW, my friend Kith who posts here once in a while as wera688, got to meet Rossi and chat with him for a spell at the Indy Mile event. I thought that was pretty damn cool. He said it was ok if I posted a couple pix I stole off his facebook page. Also, don't think he'd mind if I posted a snippet of the email he sent me about it...

 "...he was just chillin with his Italian homeboys and they were having a good time. Really nobody else knew who he was, I believe he liked it that way. He went to the littlest canopy, away from the big group, almost in the dark, to talk to a guy with novice plates about his bike. They were sitting in the back of the van when Rossi strolled up. They talked to him like their next door neighbor. Rossi asked questions about the bike and the guys told him he could sit on it. He then asked about the suspension and bounced the bike up and down. He really had a serious look during this time and listened intently when the young racer spoke. I really don't think they knew a 9 time world champion legend was talking to them and sitting on their bike, or maybe they just didn't care..."

Apparently, Rossi was doing a little pre-purchase research...

http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2012/Aug/120821rossixr750.htm

Anyway, here's a couple shots Kith got of Rossi interacting with non-aliens...  Wink

Isaac is threatening Springfield (or will be). They're trying to prepare for the downpour, by cleaning the drains and changing the way they set up the track. Sure hope they can get the races in. Of the two Miles run at Springfield, the Labor Day event is generally the better bet re: weather. Dang himmicane....

Wonderful vid.  Wish I would have seen the PTT 'back in the day' with the larger hill.

and the hardtails jumping it . . . . .it was exciting.

But no more so than today, IMO . . . . . today, you've got races who seem to turn in mid-jump ;-}
