Have a mocha for me, Jim!  In another life I would've been in the area this weekend, but given the choice between seeing his kids and a Georgia wedding, my ex opted for Georgia.

Actually, I thought about heading that way with the kids, but that plan didn't work out either.  Plans?  Who needs 'em!   Razz  See you for soup (I hope!)!!

Well this coffee thing turned out to be a kick ass ride today.  250 miles of twisties and sweepers and a little rain.  No big deal.  Sorry for losing the Lurker in Middleton, but we had to go to outrun the rain.  We made it to Lake Mills and had to wait it out.  All in all a good day.

I was still in a sleep deficit, but wanted to ride more (since there is this little ride I'm thinking about next year, and I need to be able to ride farther than 60 miles in a day) over the weekend. Coffee is fun sometimes too.

So, I dragged myself out of bed and headed to Palmyra (not used to wash dishes).

http://xspain.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/coffeepalmyra6610/IMG1216/891997508_WuCdu-M.jpg
I was amused by the corral (For horses), but as it turns out multi-day horseback trips are pretty common around here and the corral sorta makes sense. Part of me wishes I had ridden the bike into one of them, but perhaps next time.

Thanks, nice to be here. Notice the blue skies. A nice change from the day before.

http://xspain.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/coffeepalmyra6610/IMG1218/892001102_xZjAU-M.jpg
We all parked in front of the coffee shop

Except this guy on a buell. I guess he was skeered of all the ninja bikes.

After some coffee (I had a smoothie) I decided to head for the Sci-Fi cafe, which Max had mentioned at the Soup Run. I told the garmin to take the shortest route (Which turned out to be a pleasant ride) to Burlington, where the cafe was.

On the way I saw a brown historical marker and stopped to take a look

Further down the road I saw this little guy
http://xspain.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/coffeepalmyra6610/IMG1248/892059242_Djbt8-M.jpg

Don't worry, I got him to safety
http://xspain.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/coffeepalmyra6610/IMG1252/892068492_DEsMk-M.jpg

It really turned out to be a nice day
http://xspain.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/coffeepalmyra6610/IMG1258/892084068_9hefP-M.jpg

I found the cafe
http://xspain.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/coffeepalmyra6610/IMG1259/892085198_ymneh-M.jpg
But, well. I couldn't eat there. First, there weren't a lot in the way of tables, and the one staff person followed me around. The vibe just seemed off. Down the block was Fred's, which claimed to have the World's Best Burgers. It certainly was packed.

http://xspain.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/coffeepalmyra6610/IMG1264/892091086_GmnDm-M.jpg
The burger in question. Actually, this was the smaller version. It wasn't bad.

stomach filled, I also refilled the gas tank and headed back to Milwaukee. 65mpg on the weekend, with the following screen shot from the Garmin-
