I just got back from my trip from WV and thought I'd post a few pictures to share.  Jetpilot5 and myself left Saturday for WV.

On our way to the National.

We became experts an putting on our rain gear quickly.  We encountered rain for the first 3 days of our trip.

An impressive selection of fuel available.

A picture off of Williams River Road which was 'highly recommended' by a local.  It was OK for riding, very scenic.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn (thanks Roger).  They had excellent parking accommodations.  Wink

Roger taking it all in.

One of the scenic look outs on the Highway 150 Scenic Bypass.  This was an exceptional road, saw a black bear cross in front of us.  At first I was thinking damn I wish that bear would have stopped in the road so we could have taken a picture.  Then I though, hmmm what would I do if I had a bear stop in the road in front of me while riding.  Probably best he just crossed.

We took a 'butterfly vote' of which bike they liked better, and you can see 2 out of 2 butterflies preferred the FJ.  Thumbsup

Parked on a bridge over the Greenbrier River just outside of Blue Bend.

On the 'trail' somewhere by Blue Bend, great little scenic road.

All in all a very good trip despite the rain we encountered.  Things I learned during this tour:

- Touring in leather works, first time for me.
- I have vents in my rain jacket.  I didn't know this until my third day riding in the rain and was sweating profusely.
- Always have anti-fog with you when traveling.  Lots of fog in the morning.
- Riding with music is good for the slab, but not good for day riding loops (IMHO).
- When lubing your chain always rotate the chain away from you.  Yes I was warned.

Thanks Doug and Chris and anyone else I didn't mention for coordinating all of the details.

Nice pictures John.  Since we traveled together I'll throw mine on this thread also.

Parking accommodations at the Fairfield Inn were great.

We had a first floor rooms and this was the view from my window.  I slept better being able to see the bikes any time I wanted to.

The last thing I said to Fudge before he started to lube his chain was "Keep your fingers out of the way"  Sadly...
You can actually see the sprocket tooth marks in the nail if you look closely.

The next morning at a gas stop he got some relief from the pain.  Notice the scorched tip on the paperclip.  I'll leave the rest to your imagination.

We made a quick stop at the New River Bridge.

Ready to roll.

Not terribly twisty but scenic.

Here's a dry spot to put on rain gear.  For some reason we are now unable to locate this spot on a map. Headscratch

When the weather would cooperate, there were some fantastic views.  This is from one of the overlooks on 150.  You can see the road off in the distance.  Farther down this road we saw the bear.

It was great seeing everyone and meeting some new folks.  Thanks to everyone who helped organize the event.  What a great group of people. Bigok

I think they're actually YZF calipers (basically the same thing) and I use an FJR master cylinder also to improve the feel.

John normally ran with a tank bag for the GPS, Ipod, radar detector etc but we got a lot of rain so he decided to take it off rather than have to cover and uncover it all the time while we were riding locally.  The day we took the most pictures it was just a paper map and remembering 20 to 15 to 55 to 150, stop for gas, look at the map and so forth.  It worked well.  When he's not there to navigate for me this is how I always get around.
