Just wanted to say thanks to all of you that were in Lewisburg on Sun. evening to help out with my ailing CBR.   Bigok

For those that didn't know, my bike refused to start after stopping for gas about a block or two from the hotel.  Sprint_ST, Zeronetgain, Mr. Awesome, R_Doug, John, Rodger, the couple from Texas (sorry!  I'm terrible with names) and I'm sure some others I'm forgetting were all hugely helpful with tools, advice, and assistance.  Sprint_ST and Zeronetgain even drove me to Walmart in search of a battery.

On the advice of my mechanic back home, I rented a Uhaul and drove the bike home on Mon.

Once home, the shop gave me a new battery (under warranty).

After some research, I've also learned that the '03 CBR600RR's WERE known for faulty Regulators, contrary to what I told some of you.  I remembered after looking it up that some '03's would refuse to start after a short hop in really hot weather.  The Reg. is located under the left mid fairing, right next to the headers and radiator.   Headscratch  Some bikes were affected and others not.  Mine never had this problem in 7 years and 46k miles, so it was thought to not be affected.  But now my charging voltage drops off as the bike gets hot.  Since then, Honda has replaced the original Reg. with an updated part # which I have on order.  On Tue., I'll have a complete electrical diagnostic done.  If there are no other problems, the new Reg. and battery will go in and hopefully all will be well.  Wish me luck!   Thumbsup

Thanks again guys!  You're a class act.

Thanks for the update.  I was wondering how it all worked out.  Too bad it had to fail right when you got to the meet but at least you didn't get stranded in the middle of nowhere with no cell service, no help etc.

Cool bike too.  It's rare to see a 600 supersport with that kind of mileage.  Still looks great too. Thumbsup

Rich, I hate it that you weren't able to stay and ride with us.

Thanks for the update, I'm glad to read you made it home OK and discovered the problem.

Good to hear you got it taken care of -- Dove and I were the "couple from texas"  Bigsmile  Really like the bike and was a shame to see you not be able to ride after getting there  Sad  On the other hand, at least it was an easy fix!
