Whoa!

$14k is well below what I was expecting on the Tenere if it ever got here.

This is ALL very surprising!

14 large for a Super T?  Headscratch Confused

Seems at least 3k too high.  They are in KTM SMT or 990 Adventure territory at the current pricing and I'd rather have a KaToom.

Wow, lots of people seem happy the Tenere is coming here. Alright... show of hands... How many of you guys are gonna go plunk down the $$$ to order one.

How many of you are gonna punk out with "Eh... I'll get one used in 3 or 4 years"?

No Gen III FJR or cross plane Gen III FZ1..... no care.  I guess nobody except for Ducati felt like giving the public anything cool this year.  I'm still waiting to see what Triumph's got for 2011, though.

Actually neither, doesn't appeal to me.  Underpowered and overweight for what I currently would look for in a bike.  Stuck with the MTS for a long time anyway.

3k to high???? OK..... $8999.00 for you..... still not happy I bet.  $14k is lower than I bet most of us here thought it would be IF it ever came here. Thanks Yamaha for not being Honda and ignoring our wishes.

Anybody know the maintenance schedule on the S10?  Specifically, valve adjustment interval.

Triumph is the one to watch.  Thumbsup

Re: Yamaha; you're asking for more than they've traditionally delivered, anyway.

The FJR's not due; there's not really a whole lot the bike needs. The incremental changes between the Gen-1 and Gen-2 were nothing ground-breaking, just as the C14 Gen-1 and Gen-2 changes were minor niggling points. In nearly every way that matters, the Concours-14 and the FJR are completely interchangeable, and the stuff the C14 has that the FJR doesn't is a non-issue for most. The ST1300 has been static coming up on a decade(?) and still sells pretty well.

That genre isn't a cutting edge class leading machine like the RR/SS bikes are. The FZ1 has always lagged behind the R1 by some measurable time, so there's nothing to get excited about there; by rote.

A Wee with guts; I could see me switching back to Yami...

And about another 100 lbs. of weight for only $6K more.  No thanks.

I'm waiting to see what the Tiger 800 is all about.

How's the Super stack up against the GS?  I never read any of the reviews because I thought we were never going to get it.

Every review I've read of the Yam found it disappointing to say the least. In the last multi-bike comparo vs the GS, KTM, Duc it came in last.

Apart from motorcycledaily.  But I've never read them give a bad review to anything.

I'm pretty sure there are some reviews linked in this (the Yam) section..

Loving both of these new bikes. Glad Yamaha finally noticed that the dualsports/adventure bikes are the upcoming trend in America Smile

Secondly, who let Mr. Sunshine in here?

I love Yamahas, and that Super Tenere looks awesome.

That said, I won't be buying one.   I own both my bikes outright for under $6000 total, and I just don't see dropping that much dough for another one.

How many of you are gonna punk out with "Eh... I'll get one used in 3 or 4 years"?

Heck, that's what I always do anyway. Someone else did the PDP with my '03 FJR and then I bought it in '06 for way less bucks.

So, yeah, I'll take the punk out plea now and say there's a good chance I'll be taking a serious look at a 2010 Super Tenere in 2013-2014 (assuming the world doesn't end in 2012).

And I'll also put in my vote that this is great news whether anyone here buys one or not. More choice is almost always a good thing.
