Not quite ready to order one yet. I forgot to ask Zeke to take the bags off so we could see what it looked like without the steamer trunks.
Yesterday goes down in my little black record book as shortest group ride ever; maybe all of 1.5 miles from MCC to the diner.
Good seeing ya'll again - funny running into Lisa & her husband there - was a good lunch.
I had the salesguy open up the cases. They are not very huge, nor did they give the impression of hardcore durability. Plus the guy had a deal of a time getting the latch and key to work right. I would not jump immediately on the OEM sidecases.
I enjoyed when they started it up for us. As articles have said, the firing order of the twin cylinders are timed to sound sort of like a huge thumper. I liked the meaty sound of it.
I thought the small headlights looked questionable given the girth of the front of the bike. I'd hope they do a good job, but they look like projection cut-offs that may not be greatest at night.
Overall my impression of the bike was pretty favorable. I like the Dakar styling, large tank, and the shaft-drive is not overly huge.
Lucky guy, Lord Jim!
