Wha?

Is there something here I dunna know?  Are the West Coast hoardes decending upon my poor, motorcycle-magnificant, rural part of the world once again?  Perhaps we need a poll.  Wink

If it is to be so then you can rest assured we will be there for our ST.N brethern and sistern!

This is our big chance to change the next WCR location before too many players get back.

I don't have any suggestions.

Fortuna is it for the WCRM.

It is so fortunate that a brewpub, with great food (try the onion ring appetizer) has been planted smack in the middle of a rotisserie of motels and campgrounds. And if you're lucky enough to land a spot at the famed Casa De Beck-zuki (a most infamous nom-de-ST.Net) you are in for a treat you'll never forget, even if you must suffer the Doc. Razz (OK, I kid, but they are tremendous hosts and have a taste for the Rye. A great experience is guaranteed ).

The availibility of good roads is endless.

Fortuna rocks.

methinks that regardless of where WCRM is decided (or not) to be held, there should (also) still be a meet in Fortuna.  It's, like, a tradition!  Besides, I still need to ride Lost Coast.

I highly recommend a sharply honed supersports tool such as Yamaha's R1 for this work.  From personal experience, truly the ideal vehicle for the rutted goat trail that is the Lost Coast superspeedway.

Seriously, Gary, bring the 1200GS if you're hitting the Lost Coast.  It's beautiful but the road is sketchy.

OK.  If, in fact, we are going back to Fortuna this next year, the Tip Top night everybody has been talking about but never has done- must occur.  I'm packing a ton of small bills along, and plan to put them to good use.

I am of course kidding.  All true-blue ST.Netters on the road are always welcome to stay at our "Semi-Official Mid-Westcoast B&B&B" anytime (well almost at anytime...we do have what we like to call "lives" ya know).

Planning is not my strength.  I will be leaving Dallas around the 20th and then other things will happen and then I will arrive somewhere.  I think.  So after the 20th and before sometime later, but not to much later as I would like to be home for christmas.  This year.  I will give you a call from somewhere, probably south of you.

That's my plan anyway.  Crazy

The Fortuna Meet becomes the kickoff to the new riding season.  Steeped in tradition and lore it serves as a lofty pinnacle to be achieved in other locations.

Ahoy!  So the good dr_gil and I have been pondering the WCRM thingie...and have jointly come up with an idea.  IF we meet here again, we would like to host a BBQ at our house like we did years 1 and 2.  But with an important twist - it would be midday on Saturday.

We figure this would 1) be a place for those who care more about jus' hangin' out together to congregate comfortably  2) be a more manageable number for us to host cuz many will be out riding (I must say, having 60+ people here 2 years ago put some serious strain on the plumbing, if you know what I mean).

We'll feature a new local product - there's a rather crusty looking codger (no, not Gil) who is building a booming business here by hauling around a huge BBQ and creating the most incredible hunks of tri tip and pork ribs.  We cleverly realized, "Hey, we could just buy his meat already cooked."  Plus we'll have other more veggie inclined items, naturally.  So the food will actually be tasty this time (and a lot less work).

And then Friday and Saturday evenings we can still drink til we're silly down at the brewery in Fortuna, and stagger "home" safely on foot.

Awww, Dr Gil's a sweety! He and Becky deserve each other Inlove

That sounds like a stellar idea, Oh She of the Most Fabulous and Striking STN Name Ever! Of course this also leaves me in a dilemma, seeing as I'd be torn between "hanging out" (which is what I really want to do) and seeing more of NorCal (which is what I really want to do).

I'll let you know! Oh, speaking of which, I'm going to assume that you'll need a sort of head count a week or two (or 3 or 4?) beforehand so as to know how much BBQ to have on hand? And don't forget the tip jar!!! Cool

Grand Dame Beck-zuki's idea has so much merit.

Most of we West Coasters make a point of turning up on the Friday eve. If we can exercise some moderation we can awake early on the Saturday, enjoy our region ride, and cruise in to enjoy some fine BBQ at the palatial Casa De Doc. Once the meal is finished, and the bill paid, we can then ride, enmasse, down to Fortuna and continue the party.

Bravo!

This does indeed sound like a mighty fine plan... Thumbsup

Yeah, long live the crusty old codgers!  Great Plan Beck-Zuki!  As this comes together, it sure sounds like Fortuna is just the best place to put this together once again.

Oh well, those boring roads will just have to suffice!

Ahoy!  So the good dr_gil and I have been pondering the WCRM thingie...and have jointly come up with an idea.  IF we meet here again, we would like to host a BBQ at our house like we did years 1 and 2.  But with an important twist - it would be midday on Saturday.

Sounds like a great idea! Especially since I managed to miss the BBQ at WCRM I and II. Thumbsup

with the forum crash, but especially all the past debate about the (may, 2007?) meet location it would be great if the lead post on the thread edited the 1st post to say
what,
where,
when

for the meet and whether this is a final, or just discussion point as of such and such a date...

went to the september baker city meet and had a general great time
