In addition to the all new 125 Duke, KTM announced a few minor additions (read, minor tweaks to existing bikes) for next year.  The tweaks include ABS for the SM-T and a true "Ready to Race" RC8R Track edition.

Source:  http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/

-------------------------------------------------------

The Duke 125 will serve entry-level riders, with Europe adopting a graduated licensing system that caps engine displacement at 125cc for beginners. The little Duke gets its go from a 124.7cc Single. The four-stroke single-cylinder is liquid-cooled, with a four-valve head actuated by dual overhead cams. A low-slung exhaust exits directly behind the engine and under the swingarm, Buell-like in its appearance.

Bosch fuel injection feeds the 125, with claimed power production topping out at 15 horsepower at 10,500 rpm and 8.9 lb-ft torque at 8000 rpm. A six-speed transmission transmits the beginner-friendly pony production to the rear wheel via chain drive.

The Duke 125 frame is chromoly trellis, with steel subframe. WP suspension units consist of an inverted 43mm fork and rear shock, with both units delivering 6.3 inches of travel. Brakes were developed with Brembo with single disc units in the front and rear.

Styling of the small Duke befits its larger-displacement siblings, but KTM’s learner Duke weighs in at a diminutive 282 pounds, including a full 2.9-gallon tank. Seat height is 31.9 inches.

Euro youngsters may long for the performance of the more potent Dukes, but while they pay their dues in the EU’s tiered licensing at least they can look the part with the new 125. As with any of the entry-level rides in Europe’s robust 125cc class, don’t expect the newest Duke to ever see action here in the USA.

-------------------------------------------------------

The 2011 KTM 990 Supermoto T will see ABS get introduced to its feature list, as this seems to be the agreed upon method by motorcycle manufacturers to offer something “new” for 2011, while still clearing out inventory from 2009 and 2010. Colors will include black, orange and white, which is pretty par for the course from KTM these days.

The KTM 990 Supermoto T is likely feeling the pressure from bikes like the Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Touring, Yamaha Super Ténéré, and other road-going adventure bikes that feature the braking technology. It’s not clear whose ABS system KTM has tapped for the duty, or if the added feature will cause a bump in the Austrian manufacturer’s asking price, but we’re sure those details will come to light soon as Intermot approaches.

-------------------------------------------------------

The 2011 KTM 1198 RC8 R Track is exactly what it sounds like, a track-only version of the 1198 RC8 R superbike. Devoid of things like mirrors, headlights, and sanity, the 2011 KTM 1198 RC8 R is likely to bring an even bigger grin than the street-going version did when we took it for a ride around Laguna Seca earlier this year. We’ll be curious to see if there’s any modifications beyond just taking off the street-legal items, but this could be THE track bike to own in 2011. We doubt it’ll be cheap.

That 125 is really sexy, but I don't think many Americans would consider something that small for the street

I don't think we'll have to worry about that since this bike will never make it here.  Though, it would make for a good commuter in metro areas.   Smile

I will be interested how the SMT pricing is effected by the ABS, and if it is standard or optional.

Honda brought in the totally modern CBR125r into Canada in 2007.  Fuel injected, modern frame, 6 speed, 70 mpg, great price of $3500.00 including helmet, gloves and a jacket (Joe Rocket gear).   A totaly practical idea for beginners.   You can still pick up a brand new on for $2700 or less at a dealer.

An experienced rider/co-worker bought one this past spring, and commutes daily rain or shine.
Already has 10K km on it, and loves it to bits.
He's 6'-1" about 220lbs.  EEK!
KTM can't make enough to serve North America too... Shrug

Further info on the new SMT indicates that the new Bosch ABS system IS switchable, and is also set for minimal intrusion.   Bigok

Why is it that KTM has all these cool bikes, and yet I just don't trust the reliability after my one? That and no decent dealer within 300 miles.

BAH, I say! BAH!

I wish they would get a bit more reliable , I love the ones I have test ridden but, won't buy till they don't need all the typical warranty fixes of the current generation.I love the engines they build as far as how they perform, sound, feel. Sigh, get off your ass KTM and fix the stuff, I have money burning a hole in my pocket.  Lol

I've ridden an'09 model. I was really interested in buying one, but reckoned it is the bike I'd most likely to loose my license on.  Crazy

Yeah it's short but I'd missed this before and so I was excited to find it. Now if only I could find a KTM dealer rofl
