100 miles of DS riding on the gravel roads of Livingston and Washtenaw co MI on the DRZ400 today. A great day still in the low 70s! Really weird Michigan weather.

At least I rode to the office today.  John, we will get together soon. I need an extra 12 hours in the day sometimes...

Glorious day.   I took the afternoon off and went for my best ride in quite a while.
Headed to Wisc Dells.. to pick up some attraction info for next year.   Had to stop and adjust my clothing a cpl times.   But I had to stop and check the phone occasionally anyway.
I had a general route in mind, but not a route in the GPS.  I took a few roads that looked 'interesting' on the GPS and had pretty good results.  There are some nice little roads scattered about out there.
About 45 miles from the Dells, I realized it'd get colder when the sun went down and I didn't have my liner...  so I headed south for my loop back.
I found an actual burger stand in Jefferson which really hit the spot (w/ some poppers).   I just wish I would have seen the signs for the mini-tacos before I sat down to eat.
My route out of Jefferson was detoured - by a detour.  That took me past a tractor and farm implement grave yard that was really neat.  I may go back for pics someday.
Dunno the mileage for the day, but a tank and a half of gas means about 300 miles.
Good rodeage.

Yep, the local newscast is pushing the usual 'be afraid! be afraid!' line.

I have deduced that the weather personnel feel left out, as, most often, their gigs do not involve drama, risky reportage, nor the ability to stand, grim-faced, and deliver dire portents. They are making up for it in spades this morning!

Of course, waking to find the 300 pound metal table in the midst of migrating from the pack porch to the neighbor's yard (40 feet away), I gotta give em this one . . . . .

It was very cold today, but (purely in the interest of science!) I thought it would be a great day to see how well the pinlock anti-fog thing works, so I braved temperatures of -3 C (26 F) to ride my F4i to work.

Now, I've ridden in this sort of cold on the FJR, but never on the F4i, and never with a helmet that didn't have a breath box.

The results of my study were:
1) It is really cold, especially when the wind hits you about mid-chest.
B) The pinlock works amazingly well
III) Frost can form around the outside of the pinlock.

Omega) frost can also form on your glasses.

I cheated...I burnt a vacation day and clocked a quick 220 mile loop thru Indiana and back to Adrian,MI. There are some nice roads down thru N.E. Indiana. I've never explored there before. I did come to the conclusion that I'm going to get some heated gear during the off season. It was all the cold I wanted after 5 hrs.
