Bomberman speaks the truth! Riding is still fun, even when you talk yourself out of it but go anyway.

I've been riding to work every day, and I went for a nice ride with my Dad on Saturday (We didn't go real far, but we were out on little backroads enjoying the scenery).
I'm trying to figure out know how I can work motorcycling in with the early doe season this coming weekend...(Perhaps I can find a way to send my hunting clothes and rifle with someone to my parents', then ride out to their place on my bike).
This is multiple years in a row now that I've had this same 'problem'. At this rate, I might still be riding my bike when the regular gun season rolls around!

I spent the day painting, then
tried
to go for a ride on Torquemada. First it wouldn't start, then when I finally got it running, it puked oil. By the time I got it cleaned up, the sun was setting.
Will try again tomorrow!

You need to buy a Ural.
You know, I keep hearing that. I also keep threatening to get a Spyder for winter commuting.
Also, it was chilly this morning. I think it is time to move up from a long sleeve t-shirt to an actual sweatshirt.
Also, I need some gauntlets. I just can't find satisfactory gauntlets. (They are all too thick! What I want is just like my ordinary leather gloves, but extending back to cover my cuffs. Then I'll wear my glove liners inside the gauntlets. I'd take insulated gauntlets if the insulation ended after the wrist, like the ones my Dad has, but I've never seen a pair like his for sale...)

I have heard they aren't that great for poor road conditions (like snow or ice), as there isn't much weight over the rear wheel. I don't know about the new touring version, though.

Perhaps hippo hands? The classic vintage ones (from vetter) are excellent, but won't fit on most sport-bike handle bars. There is a company making new ones, but I don't have any experiance. There are also ATV bar buffs, which I use on the Ural since the vetter's are too huge. They aren't nearly as warm, but decent.

This morning's ride in on the Uly was no problem. I did have to wear my fleece under the Roadcrafter but no problem. I also didn't turn the grip warmers on either.
hhmm.. I must be getting used to the cold again.
For gloves I have the Lee Parks deerskin gauntlets. Been thinking about their thermal ones because they are not insulated on the palm side which is the grip warmer side.
Just a thought.....

Got the bike washed on the way home. The wind got all the bugs that the rain missed. Tomorrow, it's break out the Gerbings for the morning ride in. Forecast low is 39*.
