37 degrees this morning, with a nice heavy frost on the grass. My poor co-worker had her furnace go out, so I strapped an electric oil radiotor heater and an electric blanket to the back of the KLR for her to use over the weekend.

Edited to put in correct temperature  Smile

My motorcycle is my primary transportation at the moment, I'm also thankful for heated grips. And jacket. And gloves. And pants.

I threaten to buy heated gear every winter. Unfortunately I can only afford things like this when I get my tax return and then it's not "that bad" anymore.

Truth. It was 25F when I left for work this morning.

Textile jacket ( no winter liner), heated vest, and heated gloves. Set on "high" for the highway portion, "medium" on the side roads. The only chill I got was from cracking the visor to clear the condensation.  Smile

With the jacket liner keeping your body core warm is there any need for the pants as well?

Gloves, liner and dual control add up to around $400.00

Probably depends how cold it gets.  I'm quite comfortable with gloves & liner in 20+ degree daytime temps.

Of course, I'm not the most sensitive person, in many ways.

I've never bought the pants.  I've ridden in single digits and my legs don't really get cold as long as the core is warm.  I do need some better socks though.  Anybody try the ones made with ceramic fibers?

Depends on the bike, temp, and your tolerance. I'm a pansy that rides a FJR, and like the pants when it's below 25 deg. for extended rides.

I don't have heated pants either, but I wear overpants all the time. When it's gets around 32 (or below) I put on under armor style pants.

And I'll agree with DD, you'll wonder what took you so long.

I wear either leather or textile pants ( just boxer briefs underneath, sorry if TMI) and have no issues down into the 20's.

I have a tourmaster vest which came with a controller attached and it has an extra plug that my gloves attach to. I think the whole set up cost less than $275.

Go with the Warm & Safe.  You won't need the warranty on a quality product.  Plus if any issue ever did arise you call and talk to the owner.   Thumbsup
