You know, I love the feeling of being all cocooned in my gear when there's a pounding rain falling. I feel snug (and even a bit smug) as I pass the cars on my bike.
Except when the gear doesn't work. Yes, the THIRD attempt at waterproof pants has failed. Apparently the rain up until now had been light enough to lull me into a false sense of security. So now here I sit at work, considerably uncomfortable and slightly embarrassed, for the next 6 hours.
Oh, and the stitch? After having them send me a couple of sizes, it has been determined that I will no longer be able to fit (properly) into a stitch like I did before. So I'm off to find something else...

I can't believe they can't fit you up. Did they send you a 1 pc or two pc kit?

2 pc. They sent me one based on the measurements I gave them; it was waaaaay off. So I told them how far off it was and then sent me another one. It was also off, but when I told them what was off and by how much, she said that she'd never be able to alter that to fit me. She basically said "sorry, I can't help you".
On the upside, they're going to put out a women's stitch this August. On the downside, I'm not going to wait that long to get good gear

I'd say they blew you off because now they've got 2 suits to put up on the discount rack.
I know it's a poke out there, but you love their gear I know, maybe a trip out there for a custom fitting?? I mean the stuff should be good for 10 years,
so it might be worth the expense, also considering how much time you spend on a bike...
I know myself I havn't found anything that comes close to overall 'Stich performance, comfort and versatility.

Maybe it's time to switch to Teiz, they have women's sizes, do custom fits, and with a new promotion; free lifetime replacement including after a crash.....

All tempting, but I refuse to work with a removable waterproof liner

Liners inside the gear have to be the worst idea ever for street riding. I can kind of see it's merits for long enduro races but newer fabrics are beginning to make that seem silly now as well.

Besides, if I was going to "add a layer" for waterproofing, I'd just toss my Tourmaster rain shell on over my existing jacket. This sort of defeats the purpose...
I tried on Dan's Klim jacket and have made an Official Inquiry to Touratech regarding pant sizing. Maybe this should all be in the gear section
But back on topic: because of the failure of my pants, and the continued rain, I took the car to work today. Cars suck

First Gear Katmandu pants and a Kilmanjaro jacket work well for me. I spent the day yesterday riding in the rain and didn't get wet.

THe kilimanjaro is great from 25-almost 80 deg. rain or shine! I love it!!

I tried a Kili on once, and find it very hard to believe it's comfortable @ 80 degrees. It was a thick heavy jacket and didn't see too much in the line of venting.
As a winter jacket? Yeah I could see that.

80 is the very upper limit, with vents open and liner removed. It has 2 chest vents (don't work very well) 2 underarm vents and a back vent.

I don't think that 102 F is what anyone has in mind when they think of "Triple Digit Sightseeing". Welcome to my commute home.

It was 97° up here when I arrived at work on the Connie. It's been ungodly hot and humid lately.

Beautiful day here. 95 F+ and I worked in the driveway on my trailer project all day.
We just got back from having ice cream at the local drive in.
It's summer people, a real summer. Summer is hot. Sometimes very hot.

Don't worry, they don't even need to leave this thread to complain that it's cold in the winter.
