New England Riders is hosting a weekend near Acadia National Park in Maine, June 10-12, 2011.

Ride Down East Maine - June 10-12, 2011

Ride beautiful Down East Maine with your fellow New England Riders during the weekend of June 10-12, 2011. We will be staying at a brand new Hampton Inn (a Hilton Hotel). The rooms are normally $179, but we got a GREAT $119 rate that includes breakfast!

Hampton Inn
6 Downeast Hwy
Ellsworth Maine 04605
(207) 667-2688

Ellsworth is the Gateway to Acadia National Park and Down East Maine.

There will be an official NER parking area for all of our bikes. A bike washing station will also be made available with a hose, bucket and old Hotel rags.

Rooms come with either a King or 2 Queen beds (Kings have refrigerators.) The hotel has a indoor pool, jacuzzi, fitness room, business center and complimentary internet. We were able to negotiate a very generous 48 hour cancellation policy which is tough to get near Acadia in June. They will begin taking reservations at the end of October. I will keep you posted.

The link for this weekend is: http://www.newenglandriders.org/Maine/Maine%20Weekend.htm

I can think of a certain someone who will be happy to know this!   Lol

Seriously though, I want to keep this on our radar (cablebandit's and mine) because I have a business meeting in CT the following Wed - Fri.  I would love to be able to parlay these two events into some sort of "New England swing" early summer vacation!!!

This looks very well put together!  Maine is the only New England state I haven't toured. This looks to be far enough North and early enough to avoid traffic that plagues southern and mid coast Maine. This weekend trip just went on the short list. Hopefully, ESTN and other ST-n event planners will not plan an event on this weekend.

I've put a ton of work and research into this weekend. It was planned to avoid the rush and the rides are pretty spectacular. Best thing is that it is free except for the hotel (which is deeply discounted.) I hope to see you there.

Envious. Looks like a great ride.

That area is absolutely freakin' gorgeous. Mt. Desert Isle and Acadia has some beautiful scenery.

Make sure you guys hit the big hotel in the middle of the park out in the big open field with the mountains on one side.
I forget the name of it, but they specialize in blueberry popovers that are to die for, and best with a nice strong cup of black tea.  Thumbsup
