Mostly I just want to preempt mxvet.  Lol

I'm (cough cough) feeling better and there's no rain in the forecast (*) so I think I'll ride.

It was absolutely gorgeous tonight. The traffic on North Ave didn't even bother me heading in to hot dog night. And it was good to see a couple STNers join us.

(*) The rain wouldn't ordinarily keep me from riding, but I commute on I-88, I-294 and I-90. Traffic is bad enough when conditions are perfect and deteriorate rapidly if there is any precipitation. On a good day there are miles I'll do do where I have to put my food down repeatedly. Expanding that out to many miles just plain sucks and takes all of the fun out of it.

I saw a guy riding a sport bike into Round Lake Beach this morning around 6:45.  It was around 30 degrees I think.  I need warmer gear before I can do that.

Snowmobile gear works great that's all I use. So far don't need heated gear also I have a huge fairing that helps. But even on the Buell I am not cold at all.

I rode, but there was almost no bikes in the ramp anyway.  Motherf*kcer in an H3 just about erased me when he came into my lane to pass a car turning left in his lane.  Had to honk, while pulling out FAST.  Had some words with the jackass in the parking lot and he backed down.

Turns out Connies can power wheelie in 2nd gear.  Who knew?

Snowmobile gear is warm, but remember it has little to no crash protection. Get something to wear under. Not that I would know, or anything.

A guy I work with rides an ST1300 and rode yesterday and today. He rides to work way more than me because usually take Metra. At 5:30 in the AM I can match the train in but at 3:30 going home, the train beats the bike.

Whilest strolling clad in my red 'Stich from the parking garage to my building 4 blocks away I was addressed by an inebriated Native American.

"There ain't enough snow to be wearin that snowmobile suit".

I had no snarky come back.  I replied - "I guess you're right".

Apparently a logical answer was too much for him to process.  He just stared though his bloodshot eyes at me.  Ah, Minneapolis wildlife.

Foursting, it went really. Thanks for asking.  I am in IT Support so it is more of a lateral move. They are not a public company as they are still family owned and have been around for over 130 years.  The big bonus..... 20 minutes to work instead of the 50 - 60 minutes that it can be.   Twofinger

Same line of work for the most part and the pay will be the same, most likely (maybe off by 1k +/-  )

I like the fact that I will not be outsoruced or have to call India for general help  (please reboot, have a nice day)

also i would look like Ben on a moped riding the EX. :pokestick:

I rode to work today. But then, I've ridden every day there was less than two inches of ice on the road. Still beats walking, or staying home.

Crap, I'm out until at least Wednesday.  Thumbsdown
Dealer called, forks seals were leaking and steering bearing races are pitted to hell.

I'm gonna spend more on this tune-up then I did on the bike.  Proof you get what you pay for.

I didn't have to work today but I got my FJR up and running. Went for a short ride just to make sure all is well, it is. And the really great part was that the township came out and swept the streets, YES!!!
Just waitin on Ears' battery to charge and both will be up and running, althou Ears will have to ride standing up. Rick Meyer has the seat.

what a day of riding. got out of work around 3:00 and headed north. did the seeker's loop and also found some other great roads. found one road in kenasha co. that is the definition of a "twisty"
it's co "nn" just west of 308th ave and co "k" it's only a 1/4 mile but it is so much fun.

I rode in as well.  I figure I have to get wet some time soon. I went out for lunch today and it dropped 20 degrees since this morning. I left my liner on my desk with just a polo on under my jacket. It was a little cold on my guns.   Headscratch

I think our luck might run out tomorrow.  I am not a big fan on wind gusts of 30+.

Nice thing about dropping off the kids at the sitter in the morning is that I can decide if I want to go back and get the bike or just keep it going on to work.  I have made the right calls so far.

It was cold and drizzle in Round Lake.  Since my last day at work is next week, I figured I would bring my things home today in the car.  (hoping to ride the bike in as much as possible before I leave)

I'll ride to work in a downpour if it's above freezing.  The only things that keep me from commuting are

1. Snow
2. Broken bike

Currently suffering from the latter, but it looks like it'll be out today.   Thumbsup

I screwed up and listened to the local weather liars on Tuesday.  No rain, fine riding conditions. A Harley rider made me look like a wuss!

Today... GRR...  Another weather liar deception. I wussed out and took the Subaru.  Again, another day of suckage in decent weather. Yeah, some 52F drizzle, but c'mon! It was nice compared to 30 days ago.

Manana!!  Tomorrow I will take the bike to work.  Weather be damned,  damn it!

RIDE TOMORROW!   There is no excuse in region 4.

The weather guessers where wrong here yesterday. 20% chance of rain, yea right. We haven't had this much rain in 2 hours in 7 years. I am sure it was around 4 inches. It filled the retention pond and overflowed it. Manhole covers where spewing out water and my wife called me to say don't ride home, the road is covered with water up to the sidewalk about 1/4 of the way to the garage

Well, the bike is out and running so might as well ride to work (though there are some that ask why Bigsmile).  One co-worker sits in her car and listens to the radio while she smokes and rolled down the window to tell me that is was going to rain yesterday, I suggested that I had been wet before and did not get rained on last night.  Rode this morning and a little colder but looks like just clouds today.

I still work with a person that has a 4 year old (maybe 5) Harley with less than 1500 miles.

THIS IS MY BLANKET STATEMENT FOR THIS POST.

I will be riding to work the rest of the season - whenever I don't have to take big stuff that won't fit too well on the bike to the jobsite - or need some extra seats to drive clients around...

Rain, shine, flurries, cold, of course I prefer 72F and calm, sunny conditions - it's not required...  As long as I can ride on a surface that is rideable - it's foolish not to have a higher enjoyment and save fuel costs at the same time en route to a job.

MOTO-COMMUTING RULES!

Rode FOR work today. Had to go to three differnet job sites, which meant I put about 210 miles on the bike. Not only was I on the clock for this, but I also get $0.485 per mile. Nothing better than getting paid to ride. Bigsmile

My car hasn't moved for three weeks, nor shall it move in the foreseeable future.  I guess I should break out the Stabil for it.

I hope it cleared up for you too. I rode the sidecar in and based on the weather map in the morning, I really expected to ride home in the rain. But the storm fell apart before it got here! Chili

Good thing too. Rain really does awful things to traffic. Today I didn't have to put my foot down once in I-294 or I-88  Bigsmile But that was only because I was riding my sidecar rig.  Rolleyes

was watching the radar and the rain broke up by the time i was ready to leave work. so i decided to stay an hour later to get a project done. it started to drizzle when i left for around 10 min.

i notaced the traffic was lighter today or the morons were off the road.
