Does "Triumph" show up anywhere on the bike other than the triangle in the windscreen?

I think they should make a graphics package that shouts "Triumph;" otherwise the uneducated masses won't realize it's not a VFR or BMW.

Uneducated masses  Nuts Lol  I'm sure every Triumph rider has had a zillion guys ask them "what is that?", "I didn't know they still make those", etc, etc.  While filling out his official speedo verification in Rhodell, WV, a friend had a native ask him how his BMW GS works without a chain, and of course the "I never knew BMW made motorcycles" comment.  Those uneducated masses may not know what kind of bike you are riding but they sure know about radar guns.

A friend of mine at work tossed me the current issue of Cycle World a couple of days ago and I spotted the small picture if the Trophy in a triumph ad.  I was instantly mesmerized.  This bike could be the one that causes me to jump off the Bavarian ship and sail happily to the sound of the big triple.

The lines of the Trophy are absolutely gorgeous.  I started reading specs, etc. and the more I learn, the better this bike looks.  132HP, 89lb/ft of torque through a very wide range, electronic throttle control, linked ABS and best of all (for me anyway) is the 30.3" seat height.  With a 27" inseam that is a significnt factor.

I called the nearest dealership today (Bethany, OK) to ask about delivery schedules for show-room models hoping to book a test ride as soon as they arrive.  The sales person said they have pre-sold four already and anticipate more of the same for a few months.  I am in no great hurry as I have a few very nice beemers but will probably try to score a test ride some time in the spring.

If you do get a test ride, please post a review. I am anxious to know more.

Cruisin, the button on the site has a bad link.  If you look at the address, there is an extra "https" prefix.

Mac, You might need to wait to return Stateside for your test ride.  I'm guessing the 'up-armored' version won't be available for a good while!

thanks, but my cousin in Ardmore is good friends with the owner in Bethany, OK, so I figure booking a test ride should be relatively easy come May 11 (my 59th B-day).  Then if I like what I experience on the ride and read on the net, I am planning to get a 2014 for my 60th B-day the next year.

In fact, I have started ear-marking a percentage of my overtime money for the down payment should I decide to actually pull the trigger.

All that said, I have a few questions for those of you already familiar with the Trumph brand and dealers.

Does Triumph ever offer low or no interest rates on their new bikes?

Are dealers difficult to work with on warranty claims?

Is the manufacturer didfficult to deal with on warranty claims?

Are there any recurring problems with the bikes that would become annoying after a while?

Are there heat issues (for rider/passenger) on the touring/sport-touring models?

What good/bad experiences have any of you had with longevity (for those who keep bikes for many years and 100K+miles).

I'm sure I've overlooked some things but that usually is not a problem here.

FWIW; my cousin in Ardmore is convinced Triumph has become one of the top manufacturers in the world over the past few years.  I have never known him to exaggerate.  In fact, he is a pretty level-headed CEO who thoroughly researches anything he spends money on before he buys.

Here's my $.02:

Does Triumph ever offer low or no interest rates on their new bikes?    Yes.  They also do "Free" accessories, or rebates.

Are dealers difficult to work with on warranty claims?    Not in my experience.

Is the manufacturer didfficult to deal with on warranty claims?    From what I've seen, the CSR at Triumph (America) does everything he can to make the owner happy.

Are there any recurring problems with the bikes that would become annoying after a while?    The older bikes have a couple of rubber bits that dissolve, but they do not affect the operation of the bike.  There are some electrical gremlins, but nothing like the Bad Old Lucas Days.

Are there heat issues (for rider/passenger) on the touring/sport-touring models?  I've heard the 1050's had some issues early on, but the later models, not so much.  I haven't seen any complaints about the GT.

What good/bad experiences have any of you had with longevity (for those who keep bikes for many years and 100K+miles).   I've had my '03 since new (although it has only 38K on it), and other than a couple of minor annoyances (ignition switch, clutch safety wire grommet, plastic fuel fittings), the bike has been a wonderful piece of machinery.  I haven't seen a bike I'd rather have.

Well I'll see your $.02 and raise you a quarter.
I had a great dealer.  In PA there were several great dealers.  There were also a couple of terrible dealers.  Triumph USA sucked, unless your dealer went to bat for you (mine did) and then they were OK.   Heat????  A 955 Sprint ST was HOT in traffic, blistering HOT but on the road it was fine.  1050 Sprints were hot too, especially for the passenger.  Back about 2003 to 2005 there were issues with fuel quick disconnects which Triumph denied even when bikes were catching on fire.  NHTSA got their attention but the fix was a half ass coupler without a shut off in a pressurized fuel system.  They also had problems with calipers and MC's around that time and only stepped up to the plate when forced to.  It does seem that they are getting better, BUT I would NEVER get a Triumph unless I had a good, reliable dealer within a 100 or so miles.  IMO, you need to have DIY skills with all bikes, Triumphs a little more than others.  Even with that said, I loved my Triumphs.
