They look silly on the street.  In addition, they do not offer much protection for the pavement.

But wouldnt they be better than jeans.

most are made of Nylon and cotton.  I think both would be bad if you ever touched down.

That was a plus one on the nope, I have not used them. I typically ride with under armor tights under first gear HT over pants.

Sure they'd be better, but then I've never seen anybody wear jeans either on Iron Butt rides.  They'd be better than wearing cotton stirrup pants too!

But still subpar to a good set of riding pants with armor designed and intended specifically for sliding on the pavement vs. dirt that motocross pants are for.

the only pro I can think of is that you'd be getting points for inappropriate use of equipment -- you know, adapt and overcome and all.

that,, and perhaps the fact that you already own them ,so you won't be spending more money.

Dont own any - never motoX - just saw some good buys and looking for something for short trips vice jeans.  Might go to a local store to check out then buy online if meet expectations.  Someone mentioned that they are cool due to inner mesh lining - so I think they would server for 300 mile trips or less

they would suck. They are made to fit over knee guards so they would be loose fitting and flap around in the wind. They are also a bit short as they are designed to be used with MX boots. plus the nylon lining slides around on the seat to much, plus they are a little hot if you sit in one place too long.

Why not Just buy some pants designed for what you want to do

Too many wrinkles and seams, too loose, not made to protect from the hazards of the street.

Having the partially melted fabric cauterized into roadrash would pretty much suck, too.

That in-itself would keep me from trying them.

Getting a skin-graph would be bad enough, don't really need the Doc's to pull melted nylon off too.

To many seams, monkey butt x11ty billion . With LD comfort shorts and a good over pant is comfy
