If I go I'll be camping. Still not sure if I'm going to make it or not. Last year's weather was horrible for me and my non-heated gear.  Crazy

If the weather is that bad you can set up your tent in my Super 8 room!

There.  Opus is going.    Cool

It wasn't the camping that got him last year, it was the rain, hail and snow between Bandon and Grants Pass, and Grants Pass and Crescent City.

Aw, c'mon.  It's nothing to worry about.  Here's what the view is from the front door of the Super 8 on the same day... Cool

AND... the brewery is right next door!

LOL, I've been looking at proper heated gear for the last hour.  never needed it because no matter how cold it was, I could either warm up my hands by putting them on my engine while riding (yamaha maxim) or just tough it out since I would only have to be on the road for an hour or so (RF9).

I was wearing vented leathers for the whole trip, with rain gear over top for 95% of it. Made the mistake of thinking "I'm going to Cal-i-forn-I-AY! It's the land of sunshine!"

From Grants Pass to Crescent City was literally the coldest I've been in my life. For the last 60 miles of that leg every time I passed a "Crescent City - 80 Miles" or whatever sign I would scream in my helmet out of frustration. Hehe.

I went in 2005 and 2008 and they were both awesome, though. The only time I got cold in 2008 was taking Hwy 3 from Hwy 299 to I5. Well, there and also when I went north from San Francisco. Lots of fog all the way up the coast. In 2005 I had 3-season textiles.
