Well, not looking good for MotoGP, but I saw the track door sign going down the bypass this morning, so something is happening.

I've been waiting.

Reserved tickets bought, Section 15. Parking bought, section H. Don't need a hotel, my brother in law lives there. Hotels still available.

Also going to the Rolex racing in March.

Can't wait.  Bigok

Lets here from those that are there.

My brother called me during first practice session this morning.  I could hear the old F1 cars that are there this w/e.  Sounded great.  He said there was a 6 wheeled Elf F1 there - very cool.

I wish I went Sad, but medical situation has held me back, maybe next year.

I'm gonna try to get to a bar to watch the Speed broadcast and get a better sense of the track.

I watched most of the practice session on Speed today, track looks very cool.  I like the elevation changes.  My bro has GA tix & said the turn 11 hairpin looks to be the spot to watch it.

Now lets talk cost - Wowzer, COTA must have given ole Bernie a fcuking boatload of $$$$$

Beer $9.  a can

Program $20.

To go up to top of tower (look in background of turn 11) $35.

He said they will only allow in one bottle of water, but didn't check his bag, I think I know what he'll be bringing in the rest of the w/e Rolleyes

Oh yeah U wanna park @ the track for w/e $200.  Parking @ airport w/ shuttle to track $33.

Who says America is in a bad economy

I wonder what they're paying my neighbor to be ambassador??

You think those prices are bad? Check the camping or motorhome fees for COTA.   EEK!

Don't worry about Bernie. The track didn't cost him anything and he's getting his full sanction fee from COTA management.

I had planned on going, until moving from Austin to Denver this time last year, we lived only 15 miles form the track but sold the house down there last May. We are in the process of buying a house here, felt like an expensive trip back to Austin after so many trips from November to May earlier this year was probably not wise while waiting for the closing. I may try and make one of the earlier events next year and F1 definitely. I went to the last race at Indy in 2007.

I had a Dell Rep in our office this week and he said they were only expecting 40K people for this event... isn't that kind of low?

I would think MotoGP next April will bring in at least 65K to 75K people...

I remember attending the 1983 Dallas Grand Prix.

I naively thought I might get close enough to the pits to snap some pictures of the cars, even if it meant taking pictures thru a chain link fence.

HA!

I didn't even get a whiff of that rarefied air  Sad

Must be a relative of Bruton Smith....
They had a reported attendance of 65,360 for Friday practice, expecting around 85,000 today and a full house of around 120,000 tomorrow. There were 35,000 there by 10:30 AM yesterday.
