Browsing cycletrader.com I saw that there are a few shops selling the VFR12 for $12K.
Don't know what the final OTD price is but this still sounds like a screaming deal.
1200cc V4 140rwhp shaft drive ABS brakes for $12K...
The Suzuki GSXR600 is $11.6K fercryinoutloud!

Doods, that is a deal.

My local dealer didn't even order one.

My local dealer has two or three.  I should go sit on them to see how they feel out of curiosity and check their price.

I agree they seem like a good deal at that price, but I'm not in the market for a bike of that caliber.

Should send out a message to all of us not to buy something in the 1st model year release.

I have always thought that bike was way over priced initially. I remember it's debut at the bike show here. People laughed pretty loudly when the price was mentioned by the Honda Rep. I hoped that he took the message to his bosses.

When ya already got da real thing, who needs an imitation?

Maybe if this VFR came out 5 years ago, as it should have,  it could have taken a slice out of Vespa's market...

I sat on one today.  Not bad.  It was $14.5K.

The $12K one above is used in Texas with only several hundred miles...don't remember exactly.

I got mine for less than $15k OTD with the bags.  ...maybe not a screaming deal, but fair.   The bike is awesome; no regrets at all!!!

If you could find one for $12k OTD, that *would* be a screaming deal!!!

Sweet!, glad you're enjoying your new purchase. I gotta give you props for your photography as well, that's a sweet shot of the machine. Doesn't quite fit for inline post on my laptop, need to pan back and forth, but opening up as an image in a separate window, I can take it all in   Thumbsup :

Yeah. I looked, but I said didn't remember exactly.  I use Cycle Trader all the time for searching for fun, but their mobile site doesn't work as well as their regular site so maybe I looked on my phone.

Great pic!  Is that the Carrizo Plains?
I see you're in Moorpark, did you get the bike local?
I think $15K otd with bags is a very good deal, seeing the MSRP is $16K w/o bags

The bike's so clean on a dirt road!

I saw one at the local Honda dealer and the paint is amazing.  No wonder Honda was bragging about how smooth it is
