$12K gets rid of all the issues I had with the bike!
IMO it's a screaming deal at that price level.
SOOOOooooo.....what are you waiting for? Christmas?

Garage is full, and I prefer the ST that I have in there. 250 mile range, lighter, bigger hard luggage, paint that is not soft, v-twin roar with a dry clutch that has that wonderful 2 toaster humping sound....
Butt if I needed an ST, this is a no brainer at $12K.

It lacks the gravitas of a Guzzi.

I'll take top end power over gravitas any day. At least for an ST bike, I found it useful often.

2 things:
1/ That is an incredible price for the bike. Totally worth it.
2/ This shows that the VFR12 has been a complete sales disaster for Honda.
p.s. what shop/area is giving you that price OTD?

Shoot for that price I would go and pick one up. I have a 6 gen and I had 5 previous VFRs. The 7 gen for me -I am sure is a fine machine that will do everything a Honda Motorcycle should. The problem I had with it was the $$ for what you get. There are just way too many other bikes with alot more option for less money that will do everything the VFR could do.
That price put the VFR in the hunt if you ask me.

I thought the BMW K1300S was around $16k? Isn't this the bike the VFR1200 is competing against? If so then the price is right in line.
Read a road test from Motorcycle USA against the K1300S, Kawi Z1000, Yami FZ1. The VFR1200 won the comparison but the testers bemoaned the high price (just like they did with the K1300S. The Honda was also the heaviest by 20 lbs.! It was the best handling, smoothest, highest quality bike.
The comparison was for the "Sport-Street" class that M-USA classifies as a new niche.

I wonder how much of the blame is Honda's?
BMW produced a K1300 with a 5.0 gallon tank and receives accolades.
Honda produces a VFR1200 with a 4.9 gallon tank and the pitch forks are out

Haven't you heard Japanese bikes, lordy especially Hondas, SUCK. Euro is the way to go man, keep up wid da hep katz.
For me if I were to cut down to one bike the vfr1200 would work well... better still when/if Honda imports their adv styled 1200 tourer I'd be all over it. That sucker looks comfortable enough to ride into retirement.

I am intrigued by the VFR12, but not enough to actually buy one. Maybe in a few years when I see a great deal on a used one.
I still can't decide if it's an overweight sportbike or an uncomfortable sport tourer.
