After waiting 3-1/2 months for my wife's boots to arrive, I am flabbergasted that my shortcut boots are out for delivery today!  Based on my foot/calf measurements they were able to ship out a pair from stock instead of hand making a new pair.  She spent a few bucks for expedited shipping when they were ordered on Monday, and they'll be here already today (Thursday) of the same week!

The price has jumped to $244 shipped. Still a good deal at that price though.  Thumbsup

Feedback on how they fit / wear / comfort / walking around / etc?

Unfortunately the boots did not fit me well.  I can barely get my feet into them when wearing normal athletic socks.  Once in they are too short and not wide enough.  With all the measuring and double measuring that we had done, I was hoping for a custom fit, but ended up with cramped feet.  I attribute it to not wearing socks when measuring my feet - this was not in their instructions.

My wife says they are constructing a new set of larger and wider boots for me.  We have not gotten a RMA for the first set yet.  Hopefully the new boots will arrive shortly.

I find the rear zipper and rear belt fasteners to be somewhat cumbersome, though not terrible.  They recommend using a shoe horn to get past the rear zipper. It literally took several minutes of struggling to get my heel in.  I expect that would loosen over time, but I would much prefer a side zipper.

The Gasolina boots look nice.  My teenage daughter said they look steampunk.  The boots are very basic construction compared to modern boots.  There is no insulation to provide extra comfort, protection, or warmth.  If they fit, my new Gasolinas will likely wear in nicely and be fine for commuting, work, and local rides.  Otherwise I may sell them for higher tech and more comfortable boots.  My old Triumph Sympatex boots are better for sport touring riding and my Triumph AS4 are a lot better for walking, though they are falling apart again.

I ordered a pair yesterday, so the waiting game is on. When they arrive I'll post up my thoughts on them.

I was happy to receive my new, larger-sized pair of Gasolina Shortcuts under the Christmas tree yesterday.  They had arrived a few days prior.  That was a reasonable turn-around time.  Fit is 100% better.  I can now wear winter socks with them, too.  Walking around they are fine.  I would compare the fit/comfort to engineer's boots that I used to own - not super comfy but far from terrible.

Christmas Day's joyride showed that they work just fine on the bike, though without insulation they are not the warmest boot for winter riding.  I wore them to work today to start breaking them in.  So far so good.

No problem.  I hope you like your Gasolinas once they arrive, Virginian.   Thumbsup

I have been wearing the boots everyday for work and quite like them.  I used them for some minor wet snow shoveling the other day and got some sock wetness after about 30-minutes.  I will be looking to waterproof the leather later after I stomp some scooter pilots for bomber.

Well my boots finally arrived and my initial take on them is they're awesome. The quality, fit and finish is first cabin for the pecos. Fitting was spot on for me. Huge thanks goes out to Rincewind!!! I'll post some more when I get some miles on them.

Thanks again,

Eric
