Look, I'm not going on the Lost Coast Loop unless I can do it on a liter sportbike again.

That's my plan.  I'm going to put those 200+ HP to good use on that loop.

Look, I'm not going on the Lost Coast Loop unless I can do it on a liter sportbike again.   Rolleyes   From experience, I can tell you that the Yamaha R1 is the tool for that rutted goatpath that's in many places more patches than pavement.   The lush, long-travel suspension soaks up the bumps and the lofty upright perch gives a commanding view of the "road" ahead.   Brilliant.   Bigok

LOL, I still remember my rear wheel spinning loose as I bounced over a wet asphalt patch (speedbump? diversion canal?  collapsed prohibition-era tunnel? I dunno) on a steep uphill at 5-10 mph. A dry Ducati racing clutch was really helpful at that point in time.  I think if I went back on the BMW it'd be fine though.  That Hossack suspension design doesn't dive in the curves, you know.

I did, however, gain a new appreciation for fluoridated water after we stopped at the gen'l store in Honeydew.  Crazy

What?  No takers for Lost Coast?   Bigsmile

I'm very sure we can shave 7 minutes off the previous time...  A 1:53 loop should be comfortably doable.   Thumbsup

Which day? So many roads so little time.....

Love to do Mattole Rd, but I'm a little concerned about the loose nut on the GS.

Kris, & I are planning on taking a couple days up, and back in addition to Sat. There's a lot of roads on our bucket list. We have multiple route plans, and will adjust accordingly.

The goal is as little slab as possible. Smile

Current plan is that Miles and I will jet out on Thursday to clear as much distance Thursday night as we can before 11pm.  Figure an early start puts us in Eureka perhaps 7-9pm on Friday?

The way back we may go deep inland towards 49, gold country pending snow level.  Not sure...we're on the road looking for new pavement!

So we'll be a bit ahead of you on the way up then though I'm sure you two will catch up by Thurs. night. We only have a 200 mile headstart. Lol

We can discuss return routes on Sat. night. Thumbsup
