****Broke out the better camera (should have been done the first time, I know)****
I like the 2009 KLR 650. It really is a fantastic bike. However, I ride approximately 100 miles per day on my daily commute, which are predominantly freeways. The KLR is just not the weapon for this. Since I can only have one pony in the garage at a time, I'm exploring the potential to sell, or trade, my current steed and get something a bit more apt at freeway mile munching. At the time of this post creation, the bike has almost 34,000 miles on it. Here are a couple pictures:
My KLR is stored in my garage, however:
This bike has seen rain.
This bike has seen snow.
I ride.
Pros:
Single owner
Bestem topbox (Givi knock off and awesome)
All stock
15,000 mile service completed (albeit at 17,500 miles)
New chain installed at 26,000 miles
Oil changes occurred every two to three thousand miles (iPhone records...there is an app for that)
New battery installed in May 2011
Zero Gravity touring shield
KLR dash and wind screen risers
UFO lower front fender
16 tooth front sprocket for lower rpm's at freeway speeds
Clean title in hand
I trust this bike to take me anywhere
Cons:
There is some light surface rust on the muffler
Spokes and spots on the wheels that I have not gotten cleaned
The wear indicates that this isn't a showroom bike (scuff marks on luggage from my foot, keys on triple, etc)
There is pitting on the mirror stalks
The grip heaters I installed are not getting power and I haven't had time to resolve
There is an electrical gremlin when using the high beams
I forgot to properly latch one of the Givi e21 side cases when putting it back on....reached back while on the freeway out of curiosity and it was gone; no clue...sooo e21s side cases are not part of the deal
If your interest is piqued on trade, I am very open as far as make, model, etc. My requirements are very simply that any machine I have next must be able to handle the freeway reliably for my regular commute. If you choose to buy it outright, the asking price is $3,200. I'm open to any offers.
Bike is in Winchester, VA.

Cons:
I never purchased an aftermarket seat.
Good luck on the sale... sounds like a good price.

Too bad you're on the other side of the country. I have a 97 Blackbird posted in the forum that I'm looking to trade for something KLRish. My last bike was a KLR and freeway travel is a whole other world when compared to a Blackbird.
Good luck bump for ya.

Did you see my sons thread about trading his F4i? The F4i is in great shape (I was the original owner). Your Givi side bags will pop right on the case mounts that are on his F4i BTW.

Pics of the new fender, shield and screen risers...
The $3,800 doesn't include the brand new Sargent.

Update:
The bike has a little under 28K on the odometer now. I installed Metzler Tourance tires about 1,200 miles ago. I completed a 900 mile round trip a week ago and the bike performed flawlessly. Backroads are where this bike shines and the trip was a blast. I just want to sell or trade so I can have something more freeway oriented for my daily commute.
Help a brother out.

I have a 1997 Honda Pacific Coast which would be an awesome commuter bike I am looking to get rid of. Interested in a trade? My PC has around 18k on it with Givi Trunk.

I know this is putting the cart out in front but this would be a awesome commuter and right around the corner from you. That is unless I get to it first!

That does look like a sweet ride. I just need to sell my bike first before I can purchase anything else.

'04 Concours? 21,xxx miles? Fork brace, pretty fresh rubber, factory passenger backrest, heated grips, fresh battery. A bit of wear and tear but nothing terrible, AND I can beat the price on that '06 considerably. Not too interested in a trade right now but if you wanted to do even up...
It's like this - I have three bikes in the garage and NEED to get at least one of them gone. Show me $2500 dollars (That's my no haggle price) and it's yours.

I may die with nothing to show for it but there will be a heck of a garage sale.
