What a screwed up situation.

I had a similar event occur in SW Wisconsin last fall.  Someone in the group well behind me made a pass that pissed off an older pick up truck driver.  Justified or not in being pissed he followed us to a gas stop and started to write down plate numbers.  I talked to him to see what his deal was and maybe calm him down.  I apologized if someone in the group made a pass that was dangerous (it probably was), but he wasn't having it.  He told us he had our plate numbers and would be calling the local fuzz.  I told him I had his number, too, and nobody cared if he called.

All three in the video are idiots. If You chose to drive reckless, then you should expect something bad may happen. If your gonna be stupid, then you need to be tough.

You may indeed be Billy badass so I won't dispute what you may or may not be able to do against an armed individual.  But in my 30 years as a cop I saw quite a few defeated "martial arts experts" taken out by those not trained in the arts.  I am proficient in Tae Kwon Do and kickboxing am 6'5 and 260 and I know there are plenty of people who can kick my ass.  I hope you're as good as you say you are if you ever come across someone armed wanting to kick your ass.

I try not to be a badass.  In fact I've only deliberately started one fight in my entire life, but I've had to finish a few.
Most fights were before I turned to Kenpo and long before I got my black belt.
Truth be told I've had one nasty encounter (the dude was armed with a spring loaded baton) after I got my black belt.

But knowing what I can do and reading my opponents movement go a long way to preventing an actual fight,
Much like reading the road and traffic, then predicting those movements go a long way to preventing a crash.

I know there are plenty of people that are better than I am, but they wouldn't be grabbing a pipe/iron when they got out of their truck.

Nah, just another of those heartless swine who take offense at the actions of others and decide death must be administered at once.

Glad I don't live down South!  The truck driver was completely idiotic for doing what he did.  Flip the coin and those friends could have been the 20th bikers down that road and the locals had enough.  I look forward to track days for testing my skills and speed.  Ride safe!

I live in an area that on weekends is crawling with motorcycles.....mostly of the pirate variety, but also sportbikes. I also for work deal with many many people who live on the outlying New Hope area and when they see pictures of my bike in my office will start to complain about the loud pipes that they hear constantly, or, how they are passed by sportbikes all of the time on double lines.........and many of these people are really fed up to the point that they'd probably attempt to do what the schmuck in the pickup did. I read an article about how in the areas around Deals Gap how the locals get arrested being observed pouring tranny fluid on the roads in curves to promote crashes.

I'm sure that the people who live on those roads in the video are sick to shit of assholes using the area for a race track too. If you ride like an asshole, bad things eventually happen.......

I am here to clear the issue........I spoke with the Ky solicitor or district attorney for you folks that don't know what a solicitor is!

He stated to me that the truck driver was correct by attempting to block the rider and the rider bears all liability for any damages!  In his words, don't screw with good ole boys from Kentucky!

Take it for what it is worth!  I say burn the witches!

That cannot be serious. It'll result in a road war.

I remember seeing this video posted on a automotive board I frequent (4chan.org/k), and I was shocked to see that 50% of people were cheering the truck driver on, saying things like "he should have finished what he started," and "I can't wait unti those CRATCH RACKET riders are stains on the pavement."  Unbelieveable!

But on the plus side, the higher fuel prices get the less I see of the (someday extinct) monster truck driving wannabees. Another highway beautification project underway.  Smile

Most people have ZERO connection to motorcyclists. Maybe they know a guy somewhere who rides a little or once took a cool motorcycle trip, but that's about the extent of it. Everyone else is just an a##hole on a bike to them.

Lately, I've been selling the fuel economy vs performance angle to people and in this economy that seems to resonate (low acquisition cost, cheap insurance, cheap maintenance, great gas mileage, insane performance). I can't say I've gotten much negativity at all this year except for the annual teasing about my stich, and the typical Why Don't You Ride A Harley type stuff.

Agreed.   The only thing I would say....is that I wouldn't have called the police.  Turn the cameras off delete the file..  Tend to business.  Can't really see the surrounding houses near that stop sign....so the witness possibility would have to be evaluated.

Worry not....that pickup driver WILL cross paths with someone that will straighten him out.
