I was in a very similar situation years ago. Luckily the Blackbird easily out accelerated his vintage F150. I chose to flip him off and proceed on my way with haste. My only other option was to follow the idiot home and shoot him on his front lawn while his family watched from inside their trailer.
Interestingly enough, this asshole had a four wheeler in the back of his truck too.

It happens. Some NASCAR rednecks are very insulted when they're passed, even when they're driving slowly. In some states, passing on DY is not illegal if it's considered a safe pass.
I don't think the speeds were terribly high, considering the trucks tires didn't seem to be pushing.
I honestly wonder if the truck guy was just playing, until he saw the angry eyes of the riders. I've seen that before, too.
I once came up behind a kid driving a POS Chevy Cavalier, and before I even got close to him, the race was on. Even as I stayed wayyy back, the kid was cutting every blind corner to show me how fast he was. When I came up to him, stopped at a driveway, I asked him how he knew a dump truck wasn't coming over one of those blind rises or corners, and the kid didn't have a clue. He would have been mixed with spare parts on the asphalt...
What we do on twisty roads looks insane to cagers, but that PARTICULAR road in the video didn't seem to be a good sportin' up road, with all those driveways.

True. Happens to me quite often abnd not usually on the bike.
I think a couple of years ago, STNers concluded pickups are often carrying the mentally disturbed.

Quite plausible. When I'm not on two wheels, I'm in a pickup truck... but i don't pretend it's a racing vehicle.

After watching that mess, I'm shocked of one thing only. When truck driver exited vehicle with a weapon in hand, why didn't the rider put a cap in his ass? Dummy.

if it happens to you, just pull over and call them in as a drunk driver. they likely are drunk (or high, cooking meth, stealing stuff) so the cops will actually do something. no need for self-incriminating videos.

In this day and age, I don't know about confronting that driver. I would be more inclined to just get the F away and not chance facing a meth addict with a gun. Jay has a good approach to call him in as a drunk.

Bet that 4x4 had a camo paint job.
The redneck's driving was more wreckless than the riders. What a douche.

My thoughts exactly.
A couple of other thoughts.
1. Why keep following a vehicle that is obviously willing and capable of killing you?
2. Why confront the driver after it is obvious the person is irrational and dangerous?
3. Why would you then report the situation when your only evidence also will very likely prove you have yourself committed traffic violations?

That video looks like it was filmed on 22 in N. KY.
sure looks like a great motorcycling road
kinda makes ya wonder why we don't see more Kentucky trip reports
But outta respect for all the homeowners on that route, I'll bet Sunday afternoons can suck after listening to yer 100th Yamazaki 2000 roaring by at 16,000 rpm.

I wish one of the major news networks would air this.
Explain it as:
1) Attempted murder by the pickup driver.
2) What
NOT
to do in an obvious road rage situation by the following cyclist.
It could be followed by what is the
right
thing to do:
Get the plate number and description, pull over and call the cops.

I've seen some slightly similar behavior from redneck pickup trucks, where as soon as I pass them they absolutely floor it and try to keep up. I'm never sure if they're just having some fun with me or if they took being passed as an affront and are trying to run me down.
I hope it's the former, but I never wait around to find out.

sure looks like a
great
mediocre
motorcycling road
Might be better riding it, but just the vid looks to me:
Too many inroads/driveways - especially since so many are dirt.
Has good visibility, but also has mediocre curvocity IMO.
Still, looks like fun overall.

as stated before, not a sensible person in the video. all 3 are guilty of drivng/riding recklessly. Sure the driver of the pickup to a bit higher level, but in the end we choose to play this game and sometimes we piss people off, keep it in mind and watch out for yourself..
Or my dad will beat up your dad

I'm conflicted.
I ride a big'ol pickup... and yeah, I've been known to use it's size to my advantage.
I ride a motorcycle... and yeah, I've been known to piss off cagers by using the bikes small foot print and agility to my advantage.
Haven't attempted to run anyone off the road for at least a week though....
