Well I did it!
Got out the die grinder and went to town. Did some drill work to get out the spot welds and out came the cats.
Took the decatted exhaust to work and used the MIG with SS wire in it to seal it back up. Ok so I suck and the setup at work is way toooo heavy for the thin SS of the Yamaha, had to seal a hole or two after the exhaust was on the bike with the torch and some brass Rolleyes Maybe I am wrong and it will bite me in the ass but I doubt the exhaust will get past 950'f with no cats, well time will tell Embarassment

OK have ridden the bike to work two days so far. The first day included a 126 mile detour after work (lots of hard accelerating and well flogging the piss out of it Bigsmile) The end result is there is a bit (small bit) more exhaust noise and better acceleration at almost all RPMs. Best of all the bike gets better fuel milage (yes I did push it on day one but I do that run almost once a week and know how much fuel it uses) as i figure it so far about 5 miles a gallon, Time will tell on the fuel millage, tooo soon to really know for certain.

Did/do I notice any heat difference? NO but then it has been rather cool here as of late, better wait for the 90' f days to make a judgement on that one.

Like I said earlier If it does not work out I still have the stock exhaust header  I can always go back to. But until then I am scratching that itch Bigok
