How does it work by you?

Here it is 1 day or 1 trial.

I have been call at least 7 times and never have had to go for a jury interview.

I wouldn't go out of my way to alienate someone I might be doing "official business" with in the future.

Instead, I'd recommend freely quoting Arnaud Amaury:

I really enjoyed jury duty,  When I showed up it was a grand jury.  Met one day a week for 2 months and learned how screwed up the world really yes.  What really scared me was how close to home we a perverts in my town of 4000 souls.  And since one was mental challenged the courts would do nothing about it.

I did Federal Grand Jury for the 2nd half of last year. 1st week of the month (usually 2 or 3 days) for 6 months plus they can call us back 1 day every other month for the following 6 months (they didn't though).

I learned a lot about how the Feds and Indian Nations do things. I didn't realize that the Indian courts could only handle misdemeanors and hand more serious matters over to the Feds.  There's several eras of agreements with the Indians that go back to the King of England and parts of all those agreements still have some authority in them still.

My work pays you your salarly for jury duty if you turn over the jury pay to accounting. I realized that it was $60/day and I had vacation/personal time to burn. I just started using vacation/personal time and kept the checks. I put it in my motorcycle fund to pay for a new set of tires and fund a trip.  Bigok

You make less then $60 a day at work? Sad
My wife did a murder trial last month that lasted a mere 8 days.
It would have been less but she had the Edith Bunker syndrome.(last hold out) Lol

No, I mean the jury pay, parking and mileage was $60/day. Work pays my full pay if I turn the check over to them. I decided to burn some extra time and keep it so it was full pay + $60/day extra.  Bigsmile

I stayed at a Holiday Inn once.  My guess is that if you get called, and tell the court candidly that you can't be fair and impartial because (fill in the blank), you'll be excused. . ..

Damn, I didn't even get to report to the court.  They provided a phone number for us to call the night before and "You've been excused" was my message.  I wanted to participate!  Now I gotta go to work.

Ok, I won't do the Penthouse description, but I did Jury duty when I was 22.
10 days on a murder trial, special hotel, due to threats from family, and a 23 yr old mink, that was very lonely.
Now that I have 31 yrs in on a marriage, and still quite happy, the way back mammories sometimes drift in.  Wink
I did enjoy the actual deliberation, we put away a murderer for life, and it felt good.
Have fun and see whats pops up, no pun intended.
Ride safe all.

Can't top that, but I did do three months (1 day a week) on a county grand jury.

It was interesting and the people were cool.
