Normal commute: 25 miles. Long Way Home: 165 miles (4 hours of back roads). Interesting how the grass turns such a vivid green and the rest of the world still looks like winter. Here are a few pics from earlier today on PA 231 (southwest corner of PA):

I think I like this one the best. I saw the photo op but didn't stop, got to the end of the twisty bit, turned around and rode back to get it.

Where's the obligatory bike in those photos? Smile

When I show normal people examples of my outdoor photography, they say "Man, you're obsessed with that motorcycle".  So now I've started taking one shot with the bike and one shot without to show regular people.  I still get "Dude, your obsessed with pictures of curves".  Oh well.

Nice pics garry.

I'm not a fan of obligatory bikes in the photos. Unless the bike adds something special, I tend to leave it out. Besides, I'm sitting on it   Lol  It's hard enough to force myself to stop to take advantage of a nice photo op, let alone get off the bike. I just pull to the side of the road (bike running in neutral), yank the camera out of the tank bag, take a pic or two, stuff it back in the bag and I'm rolling again. Usually completed in a couple minutes or less.

Garry,

Those photos remind me enormously of northern England. I love those small twisty roads just running out in the middle of rbeautiful rolling countryside.

I have an especially hard time stopping if I'm not riding solo. I'm usually leading and don't want to break the flow of the ride for the others. I've passed up countless great photos because I was on a group ride. So I'm tending to ride solo more often than not. I love small group rides, but they're not compatible with taking pics (aside from gas station and convenience store parking lots).

Those pics are all from route 231 in the southwest corner of PA. Look for Claysville (west of Washington on I-70). Here's more info from my web site:

Ah...must have been on the V-Strom. (just kidding, you know I want one too)

I rode for 6 hours yesterday, solo, camera in jacket pocket, ready to shoot, through miles of green farmland in Maryland and WV.  Took one lousy pic.  I must force myself to stop and take pics.

Nice pics. as expected gary. Thumbsup
It's amazing the difference between the Southwest corner, and the Northeast corner of this state. I'll bet about a 10* difference on average?
Not much green here yet, some snow and dirty roads in the mountains I took these shots yesterday, 320mi. total, all but about 90mi. were twisties..........

Nice post Garry,
I always enjoy your posts.  I do believe I will not be traveling to WV.  A buddy has offered me his condo in Myrtle Beach so I won't be going to do the WV twisties. I will be traveling south east instead.  Maybe another time. I lost my Godfather to a motorcycle accident this week and it has been very trying for me.  It has been posted on General Discussion.  I am glad to hear you are enjoying another season of riding.  Take care.
