The earthquake was reported to cause the Washington Monument to tilt very slightly. FOX news is reporting that it is leaning to the right, while CNN has reported it is leaning to the left. :cool:

True, but be it volcanic ash or nuclear fallout, the heavy stuff falls from the sky first. The farther away and more out of the way of the immediate downwind current, the better. People in the southern hemisphere will fair fairly well from the immediate aftereffects as most weather anomalies have a hard time crossing the equator.
