Anyone looking for a new SuperDuke

I saw a new 2008 orange SuperDuke at the KTM dealership in Washington Illinois today. The dealership is called Thunder Power Sports.
$8895 and I got the impression they really want to sell it.

I looked at one prior to buying my Tuono. The local dealer wanted $11,000 for it. I'm sure it's still sitting there.

This one is that gorgeous metallic orange. I really like it and have always liked Superdukes. But I don't need two bikes and it isn't as practical as my GS. It is a great deal for someone though.

I'd get it, but the idea of carbs isn't particularly appealing since I'm not good with a wrench

It's a fuel injected 990cc 75degree v twin. And 2008 is apparently one of the years where the fuel mapping is pretty good.

Are you sure you're not thinking of the 950 SuperMoto? It was carbed.

I'm not sure the KTMs Kost To Much.
Take a new CB1000R from Honda ($10,999 MSRP) and add steel braided brake lines ($100), upgraded rear shock ($800), upgraded front forks ($2,000), add in a hydraulic clutch ($350), and the bike would cost just under $14,300. A brand new Super Duke with all these goodies as standard equipment costs $14,398 (MSRP). Add in a few intangibles and I'd say the KTM hits the appropriate price point.
That said, if those upgrades don't mean anything to the consumer making the decision between the two, then the Honda would be the better buy. But, I don't believe the KTM is unusually high in price for what you get. The same applies to KTM's dirt bikes. I know guys who purchase Big 4 bikes and perform a ton of upgrades over time to run GNCC races. Meantime, the guys buying the KTMs do absolutely nothing to them other than purchase and go race. That's why they say KTMs are "Ready to Race."

Here's another one. Anyone know what it would have been? Is this a good deal?

I think MSRP was ~$14-15k.
