There are many classics on the banned books list. Some of which were once taught in High School English classes and have since been removed.

Here is the list of thetop 100 banned books.

My kids have read all the children's series on the list (Goosebumps, Harry Potter, etc). I've read a few of them and didn't notice anything inappropriate. Hell, I'm just glad they're willing to sit quietly for a stretch and read!

Fahrenheit 451?    Headscratch It's a classic!

I think if one person gripes about it and tries to remove it, it has been challenged.  Don't put too much stock in the list.   Rolleyes
Quote
A challenge is an attempt to remove or restrict materials, based upon the objections of a person or group.  A banning is the removal of those materials.  Challenges do not simply involve a person expressing a point of view; rather, they are an attempt to remove material from the curriculum or library, thereby restricting the access of others.  Due to the commitment of librarians, teachers, parents, students and other concerned citizens, most challenges are unsuccessful and most materials are retained in the school curriculum or library collection.

Challenges or attempts to restrict access would be made by the exact same cold, cowardly, shallow personality as those who click "ignore".

I refer to them as Pussies.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is banned?

America has died.

Controversy around The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn dates back to one year after publication and up to the late 1990s.

While rappers revel in the use of a certain "N" word, Samuel Clemens apparently wasn't supposed to use it, even in an accurate literary context.
