We are proud to announce that the 2012 Cal 24 Rally will be held on June 8-10th 2012. It will start from Gerlach, NV and the finish line will be in San Jose, CA. Entry is open to everyone with a motorcycle capable of making the trip, a great attitude and interest in taking part of one of motorcycling’s great adventures. New rally riders are welcome, and we go out of our way to make it a fun and enjoyable experience. The base route from Gerlach from San Jose will be slightly over 1,000 miles. There will be opportunities to add to that mileage with a wide range of bonus opportunities.

The rally will once again be a fund raiser for Bob Mutchler’s Polio Plus through Rotary International. Each rider must make a minimum $50 donation to Polio Plus, with the person raising the highest dollar amount receiving their choice of either a Road Crafter or Darien riding suit from Aero Stitch.

New this year: The Cal 24 will be the first event in the MERA (Motorcycle Endurance Riders Assoc.) championship. Riders who participate in the Cal 24 Rally, Utah 1088 and Ten in Ten rallies will get points towards the MERA Championship. The awards will be following the Ten in Ten Rally.

The cost for a single entry in the Cal 24 is $225. Cost for a Couple is $275. Minimum donation for a single is $50 and $100 for a couple. For this, riders get the Rally, a long sleeve riding shirt, awards banquet, finishing plaques and refreshments before, during and after the rally.

Making my m/hotel reservations this week.  Anything motorcycle that starts in Gerlach is, by definition, fun. Wink
