'cause their ride reports (like ours) give birth to wanderlust. Every time I read about overseas rides (specifically the Middle East/Asia) I feel the need to hit the road.

I don't visit often, but there are some amazing trip reports posted. Like the retired RAF-lifer dude who had a running commentary of shipping his BMW GS to Miami and spending the better part of a year or two traveling North America. Chock full of pics and interesting commentary. Wanderlust indeed.

Every day. Yeah, it's a little "rougher" than this place, but there are some serious riders there...plenty of them too.
BTW, it's kind rude to come to a new forum (Weegee has 37 posts) and "diss" another forum. They served as a home-away-from-home when STN got hacked.

I dabble over there. I love some of the ride reports and swear I'll have a dirt oriented bike sometime in my future. Darn these short legs of mine!!!!

I spend a lot of time over there. Quite a bit more rough and tumble than STN so if swearing and people flipping the bird (official ADV salute) offends you, you might want to stay away. Great ride reports and as stated, quite a few serious riders over there. I'm sure that more than a few upcoming rides on my Wee Strom will be inspired by ride reports over there. It's the place to be if riding a true dual-sport all over the world appeals to you (paved and unpaved roads, dirt trails, bike camping, exotic locales, etc).

I go there pretty much every day for going on 5 years. Best Ride Reports forum I know of by far and the Flea Market is great. Try reading the Striking Viking thread from the very beginning!
It does suck to see all the exotic rides those guys go on when you can't afford to do it yourself.

I check that site out every once in a while.
I used to check it out daily and read the ride reports. After a while I found myself becoming depressed seeing all those awesome pics of people going here, there and everywhere. There was one guy from India that was posting pics of rides up in the Himalayas, all I wanted was to be out of my damn house, winter to piss off and jump on my bike and go anywhere.
Once riding season gets into full swing maybe I'll start looking at the ride reports at ADVRIDER again then I won't feel so bad.

I hardly think the site/topic was worthy of being "pigeonholed" in dirt lovers.

Yeah, I feel the same way. But I'm a mod in the PNW forum over there so I keep checking out the site anyway. And the Flea Market. And the Vendors. And Face Plant...

Yeah, why is this in "Dirt Lovers?"
I'm betting there are more paved road ride reports on advrider.com than dirt.

Spend a lot of time lookin at Ride Reports and dreamin' over there. Same screen name there, but I don't post there very often. I visit often because come closer to retirement I'm goin' dual sport/adventure bike. You can't be too well prepared.

I've been a member of Advrider for a year (I think)....I thought you guys were goofing
But they take the cake
If I want to go for a "adventure" ride I get on the ST3 and go...I don't need a stinkin DS to have an adventure
Besides doing face plants, getting the bike stuck in mud up to the seat and sleeping on the ground is not my idea of adventure. The US has more paved roads than any country in the world....I'll ride them first...then all the other paved roads in the world, then if I get bored I'll take the ST3 down some gravel roads.
