DETROIT (AP) — Harley-Davidson Inc. is recalling about 308,000 motorcycles to fix a switch problem that can cause failure of the brake lights and possibly even the rear brakes themselves.

Looks like Harley riders have been wrong all along - it's the rear brake that's gonna kill them.

I thought all Guzzis rise out of Lake Cuomo, much like Excalibur, and they just collect them and roll them out of the 'factory' between sipping dainty euro coffees?

How can you recall something conjured by the lady of the lake?

BTW, the recall is just for Touring bikes...the most popular of the 5 models H-D makes.  There are still more of the other models that are not part of this recall.

H-D makes about 300K bikes a year, and that is just a drop in the bucket compared to some other mfgs.

I just never considered the production numbers before...I'm not sure what kind of production number I would have even guessed.

Well at least they won't be angry and frustrated about not having their bikes, they all start putting them away in late August anyway because it's too cold to ride,
and it rained a few days in September, so this should be a good time for the recall.

Recalls won't get fixed until May or June - you can't expect an HD to be trailered in the cold, can you?

The Japanese mfgs wish they could have sold that many bikes for such a simple recall.

Nuttin' compared to the recall for my Wing's cracked frame.  That was f-d up.  Giving the dealers a template, welding instructions and a have at it..

How d'ya feel about a shop monkey who cannot change the oil correctly messing with your frame?
