1st M/C Trip from Alaska to USA - in 1939!!

Just found the link to my movie in this website.  Glad to be aboard!  I never heard about Slim Williams and John Logan until I did a bunch of research on them.  University of Alaska I think has on of the original motocycles from the trip on display.  They were true pioneers!

Amazing! The skills that they needed just to survive and get across bogs and rivers... no Adventure Bike would have helped them there

I was also spoiled by today's documentary standards. I kept thinking "More footage! I want to see it from a different angle!" Never mind that this was 1939 and there wasn't even a fecking road, let alone a camera crew

Yup, University of Alaska in Fairbanks (UAF) has it in a glass case. BSA, I can't remember the model though. Definitely worth stopping and checking out for anyone who happens to be visiting Fairbanks.

Awesome footage!  lived 33yrs in the Yukon and can think of a few places that have not changed much since their incredible journey!  Given lack of roads/trails would be curious as to which waterways they used and portages required.  Where ca none read more about the epic voyage?  Truly a journey of incomparable difficulty!  Bravo  :-)
