Hi all. I really like the look of the HD softails, specifically the new Blackline and Fatboy Low, I'm probably the first to ever ask this, but I would like to lift the bike at least 2 inches. The reason is twofold, first more comfort as in a healthy back and touring legs and second more leaning clearance. I'm talking shocks and forks. Does anyone make longer shocks and springs, can I get them custom made? What are my options. I know the Wideglide would be a better candidate, but I like that hardtail look. Thanks in advance for any input. Note: I would be willing to spend Ohlins type money for Ohlins type quality.

I'm not aware of any expressly made for lifting purposes on the softies, but on the Low model, you could certainly replace it with a standard. Honestly, if it's a serious consideration for your back (and this I can definitely commiserate on - I've got several herniated discs in my low back), you're right, the Dyna family is a MUCH better choice, aesthetics aside.

Frankly, I think the Dyna is a much better choice of platform for handling, anyway. YMMV.  Thumbsup
Thanks frenchman! Yes, the back comfort is the major consideration and the others are byproducts. My back can't take bottoming out the suspension and I'm about 250lbs, 270lbs ATGATT and 300lbs+ packed, so that will happen often on bad suspension.
