I always thought that white with red was a missed opportunity for Buell.  The 2003 'bolt came close.  Maybe they would have thought of it in 2011.

It took a while to enlarge the holes for the Hellas.  I had extra bezels because I didn't figure the ones that come with the fairing would survive.  One did.  When I was doing it having a single bezel looked kind of like funky.  When the screen when on it didn't look so good so I'll have to fit one and trim it sometime.

I give you points for having matching colors on your Buells.   Thumbsup

How come one Bezel is still black?  Work in progress?

I think white is making a comeback after the overwhelmingly copied black/flat black with red stripes look.

Thanks Sam.  I've got a new set of fibreglass body work for the R - just been painted up black.  Waiting for air brushing on a full fairing, just for fun.  I like the R in white but the airbrush design will look better on black.

The "all white" is a bit temporary Rogue because the black R is coming.  I prefer white for a bike.  It is harder to keep clean but when it is it looks fresh.

One Bezel broke while I was enlarging the holes (new fairing have the Bezels fitted).  It cracked when I was holding it in with my thumb to keep it from vibrating while I was cutting out the bigger holes for the headlights.  I'm surprised that the one that its there survived all the cutting.  I'll fit a new one on the RH side and enlarge it when I get a chance.  It will be easier to enlarge the Bezel now that the fairing itself has holes big enough.

Bueller, don't get me wrong.  I like both colors.  I have an all black bike and a R/W/B VFR.

However, here in the USA/California, the flat black look is just getting way, WAY overdone.  People are painting Audi's flat black with red striped wheels!  WTF?  I see so many people painting their wheels flat black no matter what the outside color of the vehicle is and it just looks ridiculous!  The other day I saw a Lexus ES250 painted all flat black!    I mean, it's a nice color but damn!  Let's give it a rest already!  Of course it was the same when BIG chrome wheels were in.  Now it's just BIG black wheels with red stripes!   Lol  I do have to admit when it's done right on the right vehicle black on black with a few greys just look bad-ass.  I saw a Lamborghini LP-something painted all flat black.   EEK!  You could hear the thing a mile away so not sure how the stealthy color helped it.

Hellas are easier to fit without the Bezels.  White holes don't look bad.

When it was black, oncoming Buells didn't recognise it as a Buell - different lights, different screen.  Black Bezels and a White screen may help here.  It looks more like a 'bolt even with one.

Ha!  Not a problem here...to date, after riding my 'Bolt for six seasons, I've seen very few others on the road, and I can only recall once I saw another 'Bolt while I was riding mine!

When I bought the R I tried to convince everyone that White was the new Black.  They weren't buying in.  Buell made white bikes in about 1/2 the years of production but I agree Mastros they could have done a bit more white.  Uly's didn't come white and the only Lightning was the STT.  The 2010 White CR with the black tail looks hot.  A friend converted his Lightning to White with Black wheels and Decals, and it looks like a colour that should have been made.

I think matt black is good when it is different Rogue.  The first to do it were being different but to do it widely for production models - nah.

Merry Christmas all from me and my Santa Bike

About the best mod I've done.  I've tried to come up with kits so other people can get them too but I never have time.

EBR stopped talking to to me when I told them that saying the 1190RS had "spot headlight units like a Firebolt" was not something I'd be publishing.

That is funny.  I owned two Firebolts and always felt like I was taking my life in my hands at night.
