Might have competing events going on that weekend.   Twofinger  Several of us that did the fall camping trip have talked about (and started researching) a spring camping trip.  One of our options MAY be a place that offers both motel and camping accommodations.  But this last weekend in April is one that we're considering.

Now that I've attended a "burger run," combined with living with all of that wonderful riding practically in my backyard and hearing from a few folks that the idea/venue is played out, I'm sticking with the idea of a spring camping trip.

Having said that, the two people at the hotels with whom I spoke and made arrangements last year both expressed interest in hosting the group again for 2012 if it's decided to pursue the event.  Their information is in the old thread.  Have at it!

Burger run, camping is zero intrest for me.

Another location might be good, have to think about where ,IMHO Clearfield is about played out.
Last weekend in April, first couple of weekends in may are ok by me.
We should do a dinner, the event has grown enough to warrent it

They are drilling like mad up that way.  Some roads have been resurfaced due to the truck traffic destroying them.  Others have not.  I ended up riding south quite a bit more this year because the truck traffic up that way has been pretty bad, even on Sundays.  Anywhere there is a drilling pad there is generally several hundred yards of dirt/mud/gravel on the main road that the pad is off of.

That's where we're looking...the place we're researching has a motel, a campground, and an on-site restaurant.  I've made initial contact and am waiting to hear back; the proprietor is currently ill.

No one ever said it couldn't.    But until 10:21:36 AM, we were discussing two seemingly different events (although I did allude to combined accommodations in my original post).

As I've said, I've begun preliminary research into our options.  When I have something concrete, I'll share it first with the people I like the best and then I'll post it on ST.N for the rest.

KIDDING!!!   Lol  I'll post it up for everyone.

I'm down for a spring camp out if that's what's happening.

I think Mrs. Cable's idea is great about finding an all-in one place with hotel accomodations as well as camping
and a civilized place to eat.

Something for everybody with that plan.  Thumbsup

Honestly Denny's is a great place but the one Burger Run I attended the place was so jam-packed it took us almost an hour to get a table.
I think the event has outgrown the venue.

by the time we got done eating I went out to the parking lot and 2/3's of you all were gone.

Not many knew me back then though, I don't think I was here in Spring 2009.

What was once a super clean great little town is now a very very dirty, heavy truck traffic 24/7, beat up crowded place. The amount of dirt on the roads has to be seen to be believed...
It kind of reminds me where I live, where the valley was raped and pillaged for coal. It has taken 100 years to almost completely recover from the damage.
My only hope is the damage caused by the drillers won't be as severe, we'll see. Sad

Gary might be on to something, combine the meets.  Thumbsup
