I've got it!

The Twisty Butt 559.8

http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1097957

There's only two short sections where you ride the same route.

Hey.. Ive seen that exact route on a screen somewhere before!

Oh yeah, I found it.....   http://www.etch-a-sketch.com/index.html

Looks good, Chris!

Did somebody say Sudbury?  Never been north of Parry Sound. Is that the next destination?  I'm in!

I have to go there in June to speak at a conference. CB and I are going to tack in onto our already-planned visit to CLAY's for his Region 4 BBQ that weekend.

I know, but I'm not sure I want to do that at this time.  That's some serious pushing.

Chris, I like your TB 400, but I think the 559.8 is a bit ambitious.  Lol

And you don't have to use 81 to get from Harrisonburg to Staunton,
plenty of routes just to the West.

Staunton for lunch? Yum!  Inlove

Hmm, my place to Altoona is about 330 miles.  I could just make it for supper with an early start.

Anybody know the condition of 144 from Galeton these days?

Update: 144  is in pretty good shape from Galeton to Milesburg.
The lone exception is along the stretch south of Renovo where
they are installing drain pipe perpendicular to the road.
There were maybe a dozen of these with a gravel fill prior to
asphalt. They shouldn't be a problem.

A better route, IMO, is 872 south from Coudersport to Sinnemahoning.
This puts you right at Wykoff Run. ( Cross the bridge. )

Coudersport to Altoona is about 115 miles/2-1/2 hours, +or-.

Your route left out two of my favorites: 250 east from Monterey with the Confederate Breastworks and Smoke Hole Road. I like 39 and 250 better than 33. Alas I won't be attending as my daughter graduates that weekend.

You could head to Everett, PA take 26 south into MD, head west on Scenic 40/141 to Flintstone, south on Town Creek Rd (name?) to Oldtown, cross the low water bridge, continue south to route 50 in Romney, 50 west to Mt Storm, 42 south to Maysville, Jordan Run Rd, 55 toward Petersburg (short), Smoke Hole Rd to Upper Tract, 220 south to Franklin, 33 west to 28 at Judy Gap, south to Boyer Station. Nice mix of roads if you enjoy some back roads with your state highway sweepers.

My original intent was to make a day and a half trip to Boyer since  I thought my accommodations weren't going to arrive until Friday. Now that they'll be arriving Thursday I am considering a slightly more direct route. Previously I was going to use a N/NW route out and around Raystown Lake. Now I'm looking at a route along the Mason Dixon line to around Emmitsburg, then heading SW toward Winchester. Opinions on dropping down to the Skyline Drive or heading west to connect to the route above.  I haven't been on the northern end of Skyline Drive in 40 years and wonder if a Thursday mid day might not be a bad time to see it.

A group of us will be riding a route similar to Garry's on Friday, you're welcome to join us.
( Breakfast at Mamie's in Martinsburg, PA at 10:00 AM )
Otherwise, how 'bout Garry's route down and save SLD for the ride back?

Nothing yet. "They" are saying it will come overnight once the temperatures plummet. We'll see. I'm skeptical.  Rolleyes

My friend Wayne (FZMax here on ST.N) is definitely coming to the meet. He'll be on his new-generation VMax.  Thumbsup

Since rooms haven't opened up for him yet, he'll likely be staying in Cass.
