Awesome meet—in spite of being miserable, sopping wet, and cold for 225 miles Saturday.  Crazy A

Yeah, "you'd think after 10 years of doing this" you'd have figured it out....

Thanks again for parting the waters on Saturday. It was an educational adventure.

Home, not dead. Rolled into the Black Cave on bingo fuel at elevenish. Long day.

First and foremost a big thank you to Mrs. Cablebandit for putting this together and shouldering all the BS that led up to the actual dates!

It was great to meet so many good people, make some new friends* and possibly lose some old ones and pick up an ignore or two. I guess that is to be expected when one has the social skills of a baboon.

Shout outs to the early morning coffee crew in Tent city,

tthompsr, intrceptrrdr, Buckeyrider and CP1.

To Vulcan Bill, his wife and happy riding for making the rainy day so enjoyable.

It was good to finally meet Chornbe or what ever his name is these days and beautiful Bella.

R Doug for making me look young!

Yes that was intrceptrrdr's towel and I donated the blue bowl.

A very special note of appreciation for the hospitality that was extended to me during my stay at Casa De Cablebandit

And last but not least to The Flying Pig Squadron for their patience tolerance and understanding!

I think I the Rake might have gotten my Aunt with the busted hip.

*I still think you're nuts Tim but it was good to meet you and I look forward to the next time. Thumbsup

Mr Black, Thanks for the coffee, I'll have you know been going threw withdraw with the coffee we have here at work, Ain't nothing like that hardcore coffee you brewed up! Thanks again! (you got my screen name misspelled but FIFY)

Any one else make the mistake of using their debit card on the payphone? Crazy Crazy Crazy

I have a phone card - I know it's so outdated - but I get like a bazillion minutes for a few quid.

A 10 minute call home cost me all of $1.25.

This was my contingency route, made up on the fly in an attempt to avoid the rain.  Heading west was kind of like jumping out of the boat and into the ocean.  Crazy

http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1153987

Regardless, I discovered these roads to the west are as good as anything I've ridden to the east.

I'm coming back to attack Rt. 15 when it's dry, and soon.

WV20 north of Webster Springs is really good. Way better than the part to the south on your route (less traffic, more twisty, more elevation changes).

WV15 is pleasant, but a little bumpy, to the east of Webster Springs. The part to the west of 20 that takes you to I-79 is excellent.

WV 219 south of Marlinton to (almost) Lewisburg has some excellent, not to be missed, sections.

And farther to the west, don't miss WV 16 north of I-79 to jct 50 in Ellenboro.

A big day loop that includes 16 and 20 is great fun (BTDT multiple times).

My plan was to pick one up in PA but I forgot. To keep in touch with my wife, kids and mom (wife and mom worry a lot) was well in excess of 200.00!!!! I have since been in contact with our bank and discovered this is a scam under investigation and we are challenging the charges. Will I see a result in my favor? I am not holding my breath.

I'd advise also carefully checking your 'regular' phone bills for the next couple months, to ensure that fly-by-night phone company hasn't latched on and started adding fees.

If your current vocation doesn't work out, there is a job waiting for you as
a Sign Maker at Cass.

Shil, will you please post the picture I am referring to.   Smile
