Well Smoker did do his entire circuit of the USA a few years back on a plugged tire, 2 up, and more than likely at a high rate of speed the entire time.  

Wrong trip. It was the trip we took with you and Mrs. C last October. I did put 2500 miles on that plugged tire, 1800 of them twisty ass Appalachain roads. And it let loose 5 miles from home, I limped into the garage with 13 psi in the rear.

Stick a pin in the map - or use that spike you pulled out of the rear - and see how accurately you can guesstimate it.  This is WV for cryin' out loud.  Hang a left on 28 at Petersburg, go past Smoke Hole & Yokums, and keep on going.  Sooner or later you'll come to it.  If get to Green Bank, you were probably sleepin' at the wheel, turn around and go back about 4 or 5 miles.

Got a call from the KTM shop today: my 950 is ready to be picked up with freshly adjusted valves. Everything else on the top end checked out OK (compression, leak down, etc).

I guess I can't complain about a couple tight exhaust valves after 45K miles on the stock shims. So I'll be heading to the shop on Thursday after work to pick it up, pack it up, and ride it to WV first thing Friday morning...
