Got my new luggage rack on.  Packed the camping gear early just to make sure.  Might even do 100 mi. tomorrow just see how it handles with all the gear.

Of course I'll finish packing Thursday morning an hour before I leave, probably with an empty fuel tank!

Still on the original water pump seal after 45K miles.  Thumbsup

But apparently not for long. The shop noted that they had to top off my coolant. And I noted my oil filter looked a wee bit puffy/wavy at the last oil change. I will take a look at it Thursday night when I get the bike back and decide my course of action (ride it as is, change oil/filter and ride it, or do the rebuild). I've had the rebuild parts on the shelf for a couple years now (just in case). I have a spare fuel pump on the shelf too :-)

Chef,

Something wrong there...  Green Bank, WV a few miles south of arbovale says 79 for a high Friday.  I don't think there is that much difference in elevation..  One thing for sure... One of them is gonna be way off.. Lol

That is a good amount of miles for an LC8 water pump.  Kudos for having the packup parts in stock.   Thumbsup

Hey, we're heading south from Jamestown toward Altoona on Thursday. I've heard that there's a lot of trucking going on in PA. Anywhere in particular to avoid? Any suggested routes?

Anyhow, see you at Mamie's on Friday. I'm looking forward to this year's first decent ride.

I'll be departing Lancaster County 7-8 ish Thursday morning heading W/SW along the Mason Dixon line before heading to Tanneytown, then  through the Catoctin Mt Park, Shepherstown, Charlestown and to Front Royal. Depending on my progress and weather forecast I'll head down 340, or Skyline, or head west and catch one of the WV routes.

Any interested parties, let me know.

I'll have to try the breakfast at Mamies on another trip. Thanks for the offered hospitality, SLK.

jimmy ( Mike ) is coming down from ON and knows central PA fairly well.
I gave him some suggested routes to avoid the worst.

But 219 south from Buffalo isn't horrible and gets you here pretty quick.
When I go to Buffalo I just set the GPS to "shortest distance" and it
usually provides a descent route.

Looks as if I will be able to make this party after all, assuming there is camping space left.  [Beth, do I need to contact Boyer Station directly about camping or do you just put me on the list and I pay on arrival?]

I'm riding Friday morning from State College PA if anyone else coming through there wants to meet up and ride down together.
