I bet that bike is a total game changer. Race bike speed & handling with standard bike comfort.
The smart kids will buy this over any freaking Ducati and the old folks will surely die on it.

Some of the old folks will be tricked into buying it for the "anti-wheelie" feature.

The ape will smoke the Brutale for one.
This new Tuono is very much a stripped down race bike (Like it's predecessor). Don't throw every bike with an upright seating position into the discussion, they don't belong. I mean, why not just mention the Monster, Speed Triple and every other naked bike while you're at it?
The Tuono is a game changer. You no longer have to buy a bike that makes you feel like you've backed your ass into an emply 55 gallon drum to get true performance.

Interesting.
In this thread the reviewers 'complained' that the MV had too much power
http://www.sport-touring.net/forums/index.php/topic,63781.0.html
I don't doubt the Aprilia is killer, I'm just wondering if it is just a little better, or really a game changer. MV also is introducing new electronics tech for 2012.
The 1090 also has a 6 gallon gas tank!

If it is like its predecessor, how is it a game changer?
Granted I think the V4 Tuono will be one of the best naked bikes in 2012, and I think it's Electronic Aids package will be emulated by more naked bikes, but to say it will smoke a Brutale 1090 R is a pretty big exaggeration, no?

The electronics package will change the game in this segment some, but not blow the competition out of the water. If you look at the heads up data at the end of the video, it shows a 1/4 mile time of 11.08. No doubt a hired gun will push it under 11, but there are a number of bikes in this segment capable of that already.
I've seen conflicting reports on which one we will see in the US for 2012. The first report I saw said only the APRC would be here with $TBD. SportRider mag has it as the standard model only coming in at $15k. If I ever get a buyer for my Tiger I'll be heading to my closest Ape dealer to see what they know.
Game changer? No. Top contender, most likely.

This is a pretty definitive answer on pricing from the owner of AF1:
"Ed, only aprc tuonos coming right?"
"yes, all with APRC -- traction control, quickshifter, wheelie control, and launch control for $14999 plus $430 freight"

Seems like a great price for a 160hp naked bike with all that tech, especially as the RSV4 APRC is $2k more.

Which is about how much the fairings would cost.

When they arrive in March, AF1 is going to use one for a demo........ sure wish I lived closer to them. My nearest dealer has two coming but they said no demo rides, one of them already has a deposit on it.
